[PASSED] Amendment to the Political Parties Act

New political parties will eventually be on an unequal footing starting out, so we really should do something to prevent that. Like I said before, it's possible to do the first option I posted and just disable subforum display for the CPOC forum.

Except it's not the business of the Assembly to ensure all party forums are equally visible in the way you suggest. At some point it really has to be up to each party to make their forums work (or not) however they want. Considering TIL has announced it is practically abandoning its forum, I'm not sure how much of a claim you can make that party forums are so important that they merit the energetic response you are giving.

If it's so important to you, I have no problem with disabling subforum display.

However, I'm perfectly fine with housing our Political Parties in CPOC and would be okay leaving that particular point up to Administrative Discretion unless they want us to be more specific in the language.

Mmm. I do think it's be better to leave it up to admin discretion. Maybe we may decide to have a separate category for parties, or maybe not. I think there's some value in that kind of flexibility, so we can address things as they come, in the future.

If the Assembly is legislating the rules for party forums, I mean I think that really does make it the business of us to ensure equality.

This isn't really part of the debate, but yes you can shrink down sections of the forums you don't want to monitor on your main page.  On the right hand side of the section header title, click the down arrow.

I fold down SP Street, Hall of Records, and Board Stats.
