Resentine for MoFA!

Clearly, there become a lot of disharmony in the current Cabinet. Could you share your take on the "Motion of No Confidence" and what you would do differently to ensure a better working relationship?

Res doesn't always know everything he needs to know. That's okay, though, because what sets him apart is that he'll talk to people that know, and he's very quick to understand and comprehend the basic gist of even complex things, and then is usually able to make a very reasonable judgement. It's that trait which various MoMAs since at least Imki have been thankful for. I have no reason to believe Res would stop doing that now, and I think it's a good time for him to break out of his perpetual role as "that SPSF guy" and show the world just what he can do.

You've got my vote.

Well last I checked highlighters and screens don't work too well, but I'll see what I can do. Tounge

But to take that seriously: I think the formalized peacekeeper program would be the highlight of my campaign. It's something unique, and I think it represents the kind of idealism we should strive for, one that I admittedly don't always carry but remains present. The Peacekeeper program might not work out quite like I hope, it might not work at all, but I think it's the first step to dynamically changing the way the GCRs interact for the better.

As I made clear in the thread, I was all for the motion, but not because I thought any one of them was at fault, but because I thought all of them were. I've come to think of cabinet as a unit of sorts, one that is interdependent on all of it's parts, and when one fails, the others shortly follow. Though sure, they managed to argue their way through some of their problems, ultimately, there was still a massive amount of unresolved tension that didn't get sorted until the Motion came up. Even after reading the logs and how close we were to elections, I still felt the Motion would be the only way to keep everyone of them accountable for their role in the collective failure of cabinet.

But, with all of that said, I don't know how I would've solved that. If you'd asked me 2 weeks ago, I probably would've been "Yea, sure, it's easy, make them communicate better" or try an compromise more, but I think the answer we really need is more complex than that, and I don't think I have that answer. I have a few ideas that could help, like trying to integrate the ministries more and bringing them all closer together, or cabinet having weekly meetings, but I doubt that would solve all the problems that happened in the last cabinet. I think we'll need a group of people, preferably people with a lot of cabinet experience, to look back into the last cabinet, and talk to the different ministers and examine the problems that consumed the last cabinet so much, and put their heads together and find a solution that won't just stick around for one term of office.
