Don't make you do what?

Hi, I'm Belschaft and I am/I'm not [DELETE AS APPROPRIATE] running for Delegate.

Wait, what the actual fuck?

Yeah, so I really really don't want to have to run for Delegate.

Who said you had to run for Delegate?

No one.

Then why the hell would you make this thread?

Because right now multiple experienced, highly-qualified candidates who I had expected to run are counting themselves out.

And that means you have to run?

Yes.

Bollocks to that, there's plenty of people saying they will run.

Yes, there are. But so far none of them have the experience or record in TSP that I think is needed to be Delegate of TSP.

So you don't want any of the newbies to win?

It's not about wanting them to win or not; it's about whether or not I think they are qualified for the job yet. Being Delegate isn't easy; what is more, it is vital to our region's safety and security that the Delegate have the experience to handle the powers and responsibilities that come with the role. The Delegate can overthrow our government and bring chaos to our region with the push of a button; the most important job of the Delegate is to not push that button. The Delegate needs to be someone we know won't push that button.

So you don't trust the newbies?

I don't know the newbies, not to the degree I want to before I could vote for them as Delegate. Some of them seem like promising candidates who I think might be ready for the big job in six months, maybe a year; but they need to spend more time in TSP, get some experience in our government and in leadership roles. I could not vote for someone as Delegate if they had not held, at the very least, a cabinet position or similar in TSP.

And you have that experience?

Yes. I have been elected Delegate twice in the past, as well as serving for a short period in an emergency/acting capacity. I have also served as Minister of Security, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chair of the Assembly, Local Councillor, CSS/CRS Member, Chief Justice, and as a forum admin. I am currently a Discord Moderator and Associate Justice. I know what it takes to be Delegate.

And we can trust you not to press the button?

I've never done so before when I had the chance.

I thought you were super busy with work in real life?

I am. That's the main reason why I don't want to run.

So are you running or not? You still haven't made that clear.

I really really hope I don't have to, but unless people who have the necessary experience and qualifications get into this race I will.

And if you do run, and win?

I expect the Prime Minister and Cabinet to take point on running the government, as is their job. The Local Council to take point on running the RMB and in-game region, as is their job. The Chair of the Assembly to run the Assembly, as is their job. I would limit myself to a custodian role, making sure no one can press the button, answering questions and TG's and signposting people to the relevant officials. I would only step in if things started to go tits up.

So you'd do the bare minimum?

Yes.

Doesn't sound like you want to be Delegate much.

I know, right?

Any words for the voting public?

Please vote/don't vote [DELETE AS APPROPRIATE] for me.

Should a candidate you deem fit to be Delegate declare their intention to run, will you withdraw your 'non-non candidacy'?

Have you contacted any and/or all those you deem sufficient to run this term?

I would like to see at least two candidates I consider qualified declare their candidacy; this is not necessarily candidates I would vote for, but ones who I think have the necessary experience and record in TSP to do the job. Should this occur then my non-candidacy will not be converted into a non-non-candidacy.

I have not. They should know who they are and get off their backsides. Some of them have been nominated already.

Are you still considering the run?

If you were to win, do you expect Glen's screams to audibly permeate all the way to England? Tounge
