"I am South Pacifican, a public servant and a creator. In that order."

If there's anything that could best describe Bzerneleg, it's the sentence above. Throughout his journey here in the South Pacific, Bzerneleg has always been determined to put his region up before anything else, which were reflected in his actions both as a member of the government and a private citizen.

When first discovering the actual existence of regions in NationStates back in July 2017, Bzerneleg accidentally stumbled upon what would be his home forever after. In the early stages of his 'South Pacifican journey,' Bzerneleg was mainly focused on roleplaying while also maintaining legislator status.

It was not until half a year later that would mark a swift change in his journey. After returning from a NationStates break, Bzerneleg made his way back to the halls of the Assembly and emerged as a passionate advocate for better integration of new members. In April 2018, he put up an unsuccessful, yet strong challenge against the then-incumbent Chair of the Assembly in his first ever election and later introduced his first piece of legislation, aiming to provide additional support to new legislators.

His works did not just stop at the Assembly. Bzerneleg became engaged in all government ministries. Whether participating in liberations as a SPSF trainee, or delivering monthly reports in the West Pacific as Ambassador, or planning Christmas activities as a Regional Affairs Fellow, his footprints can be seen in most institutions of government.

As Bzerneleg made advances in his political career, he began to place his eyes on private enterprise. In the South Pacific, he saw the potential in every individual to do good. However, a lack of initiative and awareness have unfortunately left much of such potential unused. Therefore, Bzerneleg took up the torch to found two different organizations: the Tsunamy Institution for the Law and Public Policy and the Lampshade Broadcasting Company. The former is a think tank and the latter, a media company.

The next big step in Bzerneleg's South Pacifican journey is marked by an appointment to the position of Deputy Chair of the Assembly under Chair Amerion in January 2019. As Deputy Chair, Bzerneleg was exposed to the inner workings of the Assembly administration and worked to assist the Chair in his official duties, such as conducting votes and managing thread prefixes.

Those valuable experiences shortly became useful as he succeeded Amerion to serve as Chair of the Assembly for a single term, starting from March until July 2019. Bzerneleg ran his campaign on promises to help stimulate activity, promote intergovernmental relations and make the Assembly a stronger and more accessible body for you.

And he delivered. The Assembly acted as the stage for two major regional speeches: the March 2019 State of the Region, made by then-Prime Minister Roavin and the State of the Assembly, made by Bzerneleg in May. Under his administration, the Assembly Press Gallery was successfully launched for Legislators to spread their thoughts and statements to a wider audience. Bzerneleg also began enforcing the one-month rule on inactive threads, a law which he had drafted and was passed earlier on by the Assembly. All of that contributes to a more cohesive and strong Assembly.

After leaving office in July, Bzerneleg maintained his interest in lawmaking while also resuming the unfinished work inside his organizations. He is currently working to complete the Tsunamy Institution of the Law and Public Policy's first report and brainstorming new, large-scale projects, which will expand the presence of Bzerneleg Lampshade Organization (holding company of all of Bzerneleg's organizations) into regions outside the South Pacific.

The IDEA Initiative

[Image: greek-columns-ancient-ruins_4khzz0la__F0000.png]

Holding offices in both the government and the private sector, Bzerneleg stands in a unique position to catalyze positive change in many areas of the South Pacific. His approach to achieving progress is defined by a commitment to defending South Pacifican values and promoting an entrepreneurial spirit of experimentation. By embracing the four principles of the IDEA Initiative, Bzerneleg is ensuring that the progress we achieve is more efficient, value-based and inclusive.

1. INCREASE COOPERATION AND PARTNERSHIP

In a world evermore so interconnected, needs arise to develop mechanisms and infrastructure necessary for the facilitation of cooperation and dialogue. As the old saying goes: "Two heads are better than one," much of the problems we face can be better solved with the participation of and joint coordination between the government and the private sector.

2. DEFEND SOUTH PACIFICAN VALUES

The great region that is known today as the South Pacific, emerged sixteen years ago from the menace of oppression to become the revered beacon of liberty and justice. However, our regional interests and values face challenges every so often, both at home and abroad. Whether it be starting a new enterprise or helping a fellow region in need, it is up to us if we will continue to live up to our commitments towards freedom, justice and sovereignty.

3. EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS FOR ACTION

Viewing individuals as the building blocks of a community, Bzerneleg sees in each and every person the potential and desire to succeed in ways they see fit. That is why the South Pacific chose to become independent, why different political parties and journalism enterprises are created, and also why ordinary people like you and me run for public office to help affect change in our community. By helping people realize and take use of their potential, the South Pacific would become a fuller, more prosperous and diversified society.

4. ADVOCATE EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS

As the second largest region in NationStates, governing the South Pacific requires delivering powerful and coherent responses to some of the biggest issues facing itself. From regional security to electoral reform, we must stand ready to provide ourselves with creative solutions through a series of works and discussions fueled by South Pacificans of different professions and interests.
