The following Amendment to the Charter of the Coalition of the South Pacific, having been motioned to vote and seconded, is now brought to vote.

As this is an amendment to a constitutional law, the voting period is five days and will require a three-fifths supermajority to pass. The vote will end on 18 January, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. (UTC). 

Please either vote by poll or by posting 'Aye', 'Nay' or 'Abstain' in this thread.

Comments and discussion shall be posted in the debate thread of this Amendment, which is provided above.

4. The High Court has the power to declare any general law or, regulation, Cabinet directive, Chair determination, and Local Council law or regulation, or any other official act of government, in whole or in part, void upon a determination that it violates the terms of this Charter or any other constitutional law.

The vote to amend Article VIII of the Charter of the Coalition of the South Pacific has passed.

The final tally is 37 in favour, 3 in opposition, with 13 abstaining.
