Great Novania: Overview

Welcome to the Overview of Great Novania! I made this thread to post short bits about the Novanian Geography, Culture, Politics and some facts about my nation.

Great Novania is a strong Absolute Monarchy. They have been around for quite some time and, although they were in plenty of wars, none were of great importance. They are known for powerful warships, a lack of religions and for working in the name of Science.

Government:
The Empire is an Absolute Monarchy, with an Unicameral Parliament and a Constitution that allows the Emperor to intervene in the Judicial, Legislative and Executive powers trough a fourth power, the Moderator power. The biggest political party of the Empire is the Technocrat Union (TU), tough other notable parties are the Conservative Party (CP) and the Socialist Part of Novania. (SPN). The current Emperor is André Cidade, and the current Prime Minister Is John Calviera.

Population:
A population of 20.5 Million is present on its territory. The majority of the population speaks both Novan (Portuguese) and Austral (English).

Religion:
The Novanians are mostly atheists, believing that science is the way foward and that religions will slow down society, though they will respect the religions of others.

Territory:
The Empire is Mostly filled with savannas, though its rivers irrigate the land around their locations, formimg "stripes" of forests. The territory has 5 divisions: Nova (Where the capital resides), Horizon, Rio Dourado, Avaria and Corva. Nova (To the Northwest) is the Industrial State, where the largest concentration of industry can be found. Horizon (To the South) is the Tourism state, it has great beaches and many touristic spots. Rio Dourado (To the Northeast) and Avaria (To the South) are states with a varied economy. Corva (To the East) is the state with the biggest amount of farms and mines, and is known for its Uranium Extraction.

Economy:
The Novanian economy is based around eletronics and arms. Their main exports are Eletronics, Arms (from infantry equipment to warships) and Uranium. Their main imports are primary products, such as metals and food. The nation is incredibly automated, with robots and machines being of common use everywhere in the nation. The nation's GDP is 544,1 Billion Nions (604,6 Billion Dollars). One Dollar is equivalent to 0.9 Nions.

Military:

Symbol of the Novanian Royal Navy

The Novanian Military is fairly strong, and focused on warships. Having a powerful navy, Great Novania can be a powerful foe in the seas, but it will be relatively weaker in land than most. The Novanian Royal Navy is known for powerful and effective battleships. The Novanian Royal Airforce is not weak, but not specially strong either. The Novanian army is relatively weak compared to other nations, but it should not be underestimated, because it can bring powerful heavy tanks to the field.

Science:

Symbol of the NR&DD (Novanian Research & Development Department)

The Novanian government spends billions annually towards scientific research, development and space exploration. All this led to the creation of a scientifically advanced nation, known for working extremely hard in the name of Science. There are weird humors about some shady research being made under wraps, but the Government alleges that these are just false rumors.

Parties:

Symbol of the Technocrat Union

There are multiple political Parties on Great Novania. These are the biggest ones:
Technocrat Union (TU): A left-wing party of Technocrats, it is the biggest party on the Nation.
Conservative Party (CP): A right-wing conservative party that is one of the largest of the nation.
Socialist Party (SP): A Left-wing Socialist party that is one of the parties of the nation.
Imperial Union (Imp): A conservative monarchist party.
Red Party (Red): A left-wing communist party.
Iron Party of Novania (IPN): A right-wing Nationalist party.

Timeline

1246-1247 - A rebellion happens against the Empire of Ghasken, which was collapsing at the time. This rebellion happened in the small region known as Novania, and it was successful.
1248-1250 - After the rebellious lands won their independence, a new nation was formed: The Kingdom Of Novania, a monarchy led by Emperor John Schuindt.
1251-1254 - The Kingdom enters its first war, against the Kingdom of Cosmor. It eventually wins the war, and takes part of the territory of Cosmor.
1255-1399 - During this time, the kingdom won more wars, and expanded its territory further, becoming a more powerful nation.
1400-1500 - The "Calm Century". Known by that name due to being an extremely peaceful time, where there were no wars and no large internal problems.
1501-1534 - The Kingdom completely annexed Cosmor after a series of wars.
1535 - The King of Aesteria took a Novanian princess as his Queen, creating a personal union between the nations.
1541 - The King of Aesteria died with no heir, leaving the Novanian Queen to rule, making so that both nations were being ruled by the same family.
1542-1545 - After a long period of negotiations and preparations, the Kingdom of Aesteria and the Kingdom of Novania united, and the Empire of Novania was born.
1546-1693 - Rivalry between the Redan Empire and the Empire of Novania caused wars. The two nations were equally powerful, and they warred for decades.
1694 - After a decisive battle, the Empire of Novania won. As peace conditions, the Empire took much of the Redan territory.
1695-1760 - during this time the Empire of Novania completely annexed the Redan Empire.
1760-1800 - The Empire's Economy entered in crisis due to many iron mines, which fueled the economy at the time, running out of the resource.
1820-1855 - Economic and social revolutions sparked a new era for the Empire, as the military and the economy got back on their feet.
1940-1945 - The Empire went trough great reforms. A constitution was created and, while the King still held the "Moderator" power that allowed him to intervene in the legislative, executive and judicial powers, now there would be a Parliament that would also run the nation. After these reforms, the Empire received a new flag and a new name: Great Novania.
1946-2000 - Novania did not enter any major wars, and has kept itself relatively quiet.
2001-2019 - Novania has been increasing its military power quickly on what seems to be a reaction due to the tension worldwide.
