Fellow South Pacificans,
It is with a sad heart that we must announce the resignation of
Helisium as Minister of Military Affairs.
Heliseum has been an exemplary member of the Cabinet.Under his leadership, the ministry undertook several significant initiatives such as the Tidal Force program, an expansion of the South Pacific Special Force's Guide Project, and improving the force's training program. His real life situation, however, has left him increasingly unable to participate in the life and activity of the region and he made his intent clear that he would resign on or around 25th December, 2019. He has, it seems, been completely unable to continue that discussion or post his resignation since that intention was made clear and so it falls upon the Cabinet to make that announcement for him. We thank him for his dedication and wish him well in his real life situation, in the hopes that he will be able to return to active duty in the South Pacific in the future.
In accordance with Article 6(1) of the
Elections Act, the Cabinet has elected to appoint
Roavin to fulfil this vacancy as interim minister. As a General in the SPSF and with an extensive service record of four terms as Prime Minister and two terms as Minister of Military Affairs, he is exceptionally experienced and will no doubt be able to hit the ground running.
Signed,
The Cabinet of the South Pacific
