Recall: Minister of Foreign Affairs
#31

I am not asking the Minister of Foreign Affairs to prioritise relations with one region or another. I am suggesting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs for an independent region should endeavour to avoid bringing the South Pacific into the firing range of said conflicts unless specifically obligated (aka by treaty) to do so. The South Pacific will gain nothing by losing its Foreign Minister, who was responding to a request for technical assistance and I would like to avoid having more foreign relations problems within the feeders and sinkers.

I'm not here to fight him when I am in the process of being briefed on the various events that have happened over the last week or two and am only commenting on what I have read in the public sphere.

Conflict of interest with a region I quit months ago? *blinks* Are you even aware of -why- I left Osiris, followed by every single region besides Equilism? Yes I am indeed former Pharaoh of Osiris, (I'm very grateful you didn't say "Delegate" as there are quite a few other former delegates.) I was a citizen of The South Paciifc from May 2013 until earlier this year when it lapsed following my complete resignation from NationStates. I have not rejoined Osiris, nor do I intend to. Nor have I rejoined any other GCR. If I wanted to assert/push Osiran foreign policy, I'd have to a) know it b) be part of the region. You will probably have more access to their forum/community than I do.

Then I think we agree, basically.

Raven, what you're missing is that literally anything I do will bring TSP into "disrepute amongst other regions." The regions who view TSP with negativity and skepticism right now do so because of the mere fact that I am MOFA, not because of any specific things I say. It doesn't matter what I'm doing. The Independent and imperialist sphere has settled on a narrative that I'm secretly turning TSP defender. There is nothing I can do to stop that, which has been made clear by Cormac crossing the boundaries and petitioning for my recall.

I did nothing worthy of recall. I did not bring disrepute upon TSP. Hobbes does not want any of this to happen, and frankly if Hobbes doesn't think my comments are worthy of diplomatic sanction, then neither should Osiris or TEP.

I am not going to stop posting in NS Gameplay just because a group of Independent and imperialist players doesn't like me. No other government official in any other GCR has been treated the way I have. But TSP is apparently a battleground for other Independent and imperialist regions, who are making every move they possibly can to try to and trap TSP into choosing between them and our defender allies.

That's all this is. Just another petty move in a never-ending tug-o-war. The moment Independence in TSP stopped being about aligning ourselves with raiders, imperialists, and the rest of that sphere, the conspiracies started floating around. This is what's happening, and people need to start seeing it for what it is, rather than writing it off as defender bias and partiality.

I can't stand that people keep saying I need to "sacrifice" my personal ideology. No, I don't. First of all, an Independent region like ours does not require government officials to silence their political beliefs. No other MOFA has ever been asked to do that, despite TSP having a series of activist MOFAs. Second of all, that BS perpetuates the meme that I have been orchestrating a defender takeover of TSP. Again, no matter what I say seems to matter. I literally just revealed that I personally proposed TSP focus on non-defender regions. Yet that revelation has apparently done nothing to dissuade people of their belief in this stupid meme.

Here goes a question about recall procedures: if the Code of Laws mentions that discussions on a recall motion must go to vote after three days, is it assumed that the original post is the motion, or should there need to be an actual motion like in other legislative debates, the three days of discussions starting only then?

If not the first post then wouldn't this statement be the aforementioned motion?

or must they use the word "vote" in order to initiate said motion?

Thanks, I had missed the actual "move to recall" part.

I was running under the basis that there was no need for a motion - that it needed to go to vote in three days, regardless of a motion or second. It's a quirk of how that section is written and I know in the past we've had to run votes on recalls despite zero support for them because a thread was started for it.

This is so dumb. GR needs to learn he represents TSP globally and he can't just respond to members of other regions in a manner that lacks any tact. How many allies must we lose and offend over nothing?

That being said the complete abuse that is happening in this assembly is way more embarrassing and offensive than anything gr said. TSP isn't a proxy for other regional interests. Say what you want about GR but he is ours, he plays in TSP and he has more than proved he belongs here. He has views I don't agree with but he isn't a mouth piece for Osi, TRR, TEP or Laz .

Can anyone give me one good reason why Sandaoguo should be sacked as MORA ? A good reason, not any reason a GOOD reason ?

I doubt it.

It is not like Sandaoguo has tried to do this on purpose. You can't dismiss someone for making a little mistake if that was true in real life than no one would have a job.

We have never been exactly good friends with any of the regions that have be "offended." In real life politicians make mistakes and have had to apologise or some have never apologise yet they still have their jobs.

I think it is a very stupid idea and Cormac should be punished in some way for wasting the Assembly's Time. Please bear in mind this is what I think.

I'm really offended that I'm being called "a mouth piece for Osi." I've gone out of my way to avoid representing other interests while participating in The South Pacific, not only since I regained citizenship recently but also when I was first a citizen here.

My concern here is the impact that Glen as MoFA is having on The South Pacific. Believe it or not, though I appreciate that some of you have an inflated view of your own importance, Osiris doesn't care what The South Pacific does or doesn't do in regard to its own government officials. Osiris does not regard The South Pacific as important enough to meddle in its internal affairs to achieve any Osiran objectives, even if Osiris were inclined to behave in such a way, which it isn't. And believe me when I say that there isn't an imperialist in existence who believes that the success of either independence or imperialism hinges on The South Pacific.

Get over yourselves. If I were going to meddle in a region for foreign interests there would be more relevant candidates.
