Ambassador's Report for July
This past month, we had Judicial Elections for the court and a Special Election for the Speaker of the Assembly due to the absence of Bootsie, the incumbent speaker.

The first round of the judicial election only had two candidates, Zyvetskistaahn and Skittleyflakes. Due to the fact that the court is composed of three justices, the people elected to re-open nominations. After nominations were reopened, the field widened to include Yalkan, MacSalterson, and Cogoria. The second round resulted in Zyvetskistaahn, Yalkan, and MacSalterson getting elected to the court.

The Speaker elections saw only two candidates vie for the office of Speaker, Owenstacey (one of the Deputy Speakers) and Abbey (one of the forum administrators). Owenstacey won the election.

Ambassador’s Report: September

This past month, The North Pacific held General Elections for the positions of Delegate, Vice Delegate, Attorney General, and Speaker of the Regional Assembly.

The Delegate race remained mostly uncontested, with the incumbent Pallaith winning 82.05% of the vote. However, a new presence emerged this election in the form of a candidate from the Regional Message Board. A large community of TNPers have chosen not to engage in the forums and remain on the Regional Message Boards. These players have formed a new voting bloc that has attempted to become more involved in the government. This came in the form of the candidacy of Kyoki Chudoku, who has been a very active member of the RMB community. However, in spite of the waver of support from the RMB community, she only received 8.97% of the vote.

While the Delegate election was a solid win for the incumbent, the Vice Delegate race was far more contentious. The main contenders were Kasch, the incumbent Vice Delegate, and Siwale, the Minister of Home Affairs. The race started out as a close match up, but in the final days of the election, Siwale pulled ahead, winning 54.29% of the vote.

In contrast, the Speaker election was by far the least contentious, with the incumbent speaker Owenstacey being the only contender.

The last race this election was the Attorney General race. While incumbent Attorney General Darcania did receiver opposition from Midir, the results mimicked those of the Delegate race, with Darcania receiving 82.05 % of the vote.

While the current Pallaith Administration remained in the Delegacy, Delegate Pallaith did decide to make some major changes to his cabinet. After Siwale's ascendancy to the Vice Delegacy, Pallaith opted to appoint ABC as Minister of Home Affairs. ABC was the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs previously, and thus has excellent experience for the job. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pallaith removed Sankami from the office of Minister and replaced her with Kasch, the former Vice Delegate. Kasch has had leadership experience in nearly every ministry, and so he was a firm pick for the job. Finally, in the Ministry of Culture, Pallaith elected to remove Sillystring from office to replace her with McMasterdonia, a long-time TNPer who had just returned to NationStates.

This has been the report for September.

Thanks for the update (and congratulations to the new government)!

A question - what is the typical role of the Chief of Staff in TNP?

I would say that it’s not a typical role in TNP.

The Chief of Staff will provide assistance to all Ministries and oversee special projects under the Delegate’s direction, particularly those that require coordination between Ministries. This will assist in meeting the Delegate’s ambitious agenda for the term.
