Sorry, all. I'm late to the party...
No, I don't think atheism is wrong, and any religious person who believes it is has got to be one of the biggest hypocrites on the face of Earth. I was raised a Catholic, and now I am a recovering one.  I find I classify myself as agnostic with theist tendencies. I don't believe there IS a god, but I don't know for certain there isn't. The fact is I have no earthly idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was just some old Roman lookin' dude with a long white beard sitting just beyond the edge of the universe (which, to answer a question before, I'm pretty sure is infinite and ever expanding, always has existed {since the Big Bang}, and will always exist regardless of if life does) trolling us all and laughing at us. But no. Any religious person who believes someone is going to Hell because they don't believe in god is a special brand of closed minded. Right up there with those who discriminate against homosexuals. I'm fairly certain religion was created for the sole purpose to better society through good morals and ethical behavior. Whether or not that's what it actually does is up for debate. Either that, or it was for psychological manipulation. Its a fad.
