Er, yeah. Sorry about that.

So, er, hello again all. This seems a good thread to get to know people in, so I guess I'll tell you what's happening with me at the moment. It might be a long story.

I'm married, with two and a half-year-old daughter and early last year the opportunity came up for my wife to take voluntary severance with her work. We thought it would be a great opportunity to move to be closer to her parents, who live about 600 miles away, and also to go somewhere with more opportunities for us, both in terms of employment and hobbies, etc. We set upon that path, with my wife finishing work last July. Since then we've been looking for work in the area we want to move to, applying for jobs, going for interviews etc. etc., but we haven't got anywhere at all. Instead, we're still here, feeling like we're in limbo and looking a little silly after we told everyone we were planning to move, steadily eating up that severance pay and my meagre, part-time retail salary. It's a little trying at times.

As Christians, however, we are still pretty convinced that God set us on this path and that he has a plan in mind. Besides, even from a secular point of view, job prospects are better where we're looking than where we live and, now we're on this path, we're kind of stuck on it. We're learning to trust and be patient and to persevere and spending a lot of time telling friends, colleagues and folk at church that, yes, we're still here, no, we haven't had any luck with the most recent job interviews, but no, we're not giving up.

Still, can't wait for the day when it all finally changes around!

So, that's me at the moment.

Welcome Seraph!

It is rare for parents to be here in TSP. Anyways, I hope the best for you. Smile

Btw this is a very diverse community. From teenagers to adults with jobs, from the Americas to Asia and Oceania, there are many people here from diverse countries. Although the majority is still from the Anglophone nations, but there are still people from other nationalities and with different languages.

So if you're racist, best turn that bus around Tounge

No fear of that. Actually it's the apparent diversity here which appealed to me. I'm glad to hear it confirmed.

Not all adults have jobs, just like not everyone who has a job is an adult.

I meant it as a range. Like teenager, teenager with job, adult in college/university, adult, adult with job, etc.
