A Vote for Change
#1

Hello!

Introduction

Well first of all sorry this wasn't created sooner, I've been away and I've only had access to Tapatalk and I can't post any threads so sorry! Secondly I never had plans to run for MoFA however I was nominated and I thought it would be rude not to accept, so here we are! Happywide

The Problem

It has been a two horse race till I joined the race and I think there is a problem with the others in the race. One of them has only just joined TSP and has no experience in anything to do with TSP. The other wants to live in the same old politics we've had for far to long, I'm here to tell you, you can vote for someone different.

Something Different

I've spent lots of my time here in Regional Affairs therefor I want to takes us away from focusing our friendship just on GCR and regions that have large armies. I want us to focus more on UCR and becoming more culturalized with foreign regions. I would work with Regional Affairs to help create more culture events to help build bridges with other regions and so foreign nations can get a taste of The South Pacific!!!! With our growing role-playing community its a good idea for us to find other regions that we can role-play with, once again building bridges and letting people have a taste of TSP.

Experience

I have just as much if not more experience than Feirmont had when he became MoFA. However I will expand, I've been in the original Fellowship Programme Staff, when it Henn was MoRA. It was just Kris, Awe, HEM, Henn and myself in those days. And now I am in the current Fellowship Programme Staff where I am currently Director of Resident Spotlights, Director of Meet the Government, I am a member of the Advisory Council and I'm a Deputy Minister for Regional Affairs. I have also debated in the Assembly, where I have helped create new laws, remove old laws and change laws. I have also helped add in new articles in the Charter, I have helped remove old articles from the Charter and amend articles in the Charter.

Conclusion

If you want something different from Foreign Affairs then I strongly urge you to vote for me. Ok I'm not the sharpest knife in the draw and I'm sure most of you find me a pain however give me chance and who knows I might surprise you. I am of course open to any questions you may have. And thank you for your time.

Isn't a greater focus on culture and less focus on R/D exactly what Sandaoguo has already proposed in his campaign?

No, not really. What Sandaoguo is proposing is slight changed in focus. He wants to keep everything between the GCR and not move toward UCR.

Now you may think I can't do this and because Sandaoguo has been an amazing MoFA before you should vote for him, however if you want to see a move towards culture instead of R/D you can only get that with me. Simply because I have RA experience I've worked in RA for a long time now so I'll be best suited to focusing culture and not R/D. Sandaoguo is best suited to creating treaties and such so I can't see him being able to deliver real change.

Um...I am not sure I understand. You are proposing a more toward UCRs, but he does too, and in fact has named certain UCRs he wants to approach. You are proposing less R/D and more culture, he is proposing exactly the same. So aren't your campaigns the same?

It's much more beneficial for us, as a region that isn't focused on military affairs, to pivot towards a more culture-focused foreign policy. We should look for regions that can enrich our own growing roleplay community, create good cross-regional conversations, and be focused more on peaceful things than about invading this region or opposing that group of raiders.

In the past you have advocated some radical positions regarding our foreign affairs, such us declaring war or invading, instead of continuing negotiations or some other less aggressive route. How would you handle delicate foreign affairs situations, particularly ones involving tensions with an ally?

Let me give you a scenario.

Our ally, which we have had a treaty with for years, was just couped by the legally elected delegate. Another, much smaller and more unknown region has claimed our ally as their own, even when all the main members of the second region are not focusing entirely on it.

The shitstorm in GP, after the second region says it was to control us, because a majority of our citizens are also citizens in our ally's region too, so much that the long time resident of TSP was the Vice Delegate in our ally's region. He has since stood down from Vice Delegate.

How would you handle this?

What are your plans for new or existing members of the community looking for more experience in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?

Sorry I only skimmed his campaign, so I can't remember much about it. Well I guess we do both share the same intentions. I'll say it once again if you do want this change you'll only get it with me. I've worked in RA for a while now therefor I know more about our culture, how to spread it and how to help create festivals. I highly doubt I will ever get your vote Kris however I can try.

Well as boring as it may sound I would first of all have to hear from the Cabinet and have a discussion there. Then I would follow what the Cabinet has decided on. I would always look for a peaceful result so there would be a lot of negotiating with our allies and the two regions.

Well my rival scrapped the Diplomatic Service and the associate idea created by Raven didn't get anyone. I therefor think there should be a Foreign Affairs version of the Fellowship Programme. Where people slowly rise up through the ranks and learn about Foreign Affairs. I think this would be a great way for people to learn about Foreign Affairs, have fun, give them experience for the future and let them learn about different cultures.

Not the answer I was looking for, but including the Cabinet should always be a must.
