Noted.

RE: [OOC] Southern Cooperation Organisation - Hammerstar - 06-14-2015

.... I don't think that's fair.. I know Rebeltopia used to be a member of the SCO, but why are they allowed to contribute in a certain framework when they currently are still in review

RE: [OOC] Southern Cooperation Organisation - Kris Kringle - 06-14-2015

Rebeltopia is answering a question in his accession thread, not participating in the debate for the common framework. It's the difference between someone asking questions about their prospective job and actually setting on the desk and working.

So, I finally got around to posting an application. Although it's too bad you've got those minimum democratic standards. It kinda segregates systems such as mine which are fair, yet not a democracy.

The point is precisely to only have democracies. We're not like the UN, who takes every nation out there.

Describe your system. We might make exceptions, since yours seems like a peculiar case

Isn't it like old Japan, with all the lords and stuff and the best one(the one who's best at conquering/stratagy) is named leader(or shogun, in Japan's case). That's just from my knowledge of the Sangelli culture being based of Japan's.

Don't mind me I'm just on Tapatalk

My nation is based off of Sangheli culture, but isn't completely the same. I based my nation off of the Sangheli after the events of Halo 3, when they headed back to Sanghelion to gather and recuperate. They also gained a fervent hate of corruption and back-door politics from their time in the Covenant.

Once every eight years a series of tournaments are held. Anyone is capable of entering these tournaments, citizens or not. There are four seperate tournaments: One to judge skills in Diplomacy, one which tests for Intelligence, one which determines how Honorable the participants are, and the final one which determines skill in combat and Leadership. These four tournaments determine who gains control over which ministry. The winners of the tournament then are offered a chance to take over their selective ministry, but need to deal with the old minister. Usually this ends up in a duel.

There is the  Ministry of Communications (Diplomacy), which handles Foreign Affairs and settles disputes between the various City-States (which each create laws to govern themselves). The Ministry of Logistics (Intelligence), which manages Domestic Affairs such as transportation, ensuring a stable economy, etc. The Ministry of Faith (Honor), which acts as a Judicial Branch for the government, and spots and abolishes corruption. Then finally we have the Office of the Arbiter (Leadership), who acts as the Leader of the military. All of these positions, alongside the leaders of each individual city-state, are all part of the Council of Masters, which is the highest governing body in TSL. The Council of Masters appoints a Member to lead the discussions and act as the Head of State. Currently said member is the Arbiter, Dar'sahkar Kagé.

This system is a fair system, and any who attempt to cheat it or make any back-door deals are usually spotted by the Ministry of Faith. Those that are spotted usually face prison time or exile.

Although the question is, is this system fair enough for TSL to be accepted into the SCO? I can assure you that all of the standards aside from the minimum democratic standards have been met (except for those 2 treaty ones which don't exist yet).

I don't think they won't allow you accession, you didn't fill the democratic standards....
