RE: Lampshade Bar and Grill - Drall - 10-24-2017 (10-24-2017, 11:33 AM)Kris Kringle Wrote: Why would it be illegal for them to be here? Said player is banned gameside. Lampshade Bar and Grill - Kris Kringle - 10-24-2017 Gameside has its rules. If they haven't earned a forum ban, there's no reason to give one. Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk RE: Lampshade Bar and Grill - Drall - 10-24-2017 A point I personally disagree with, but it's up to you and the other administrators. His ban gameside would be the only reason for any illegality in regards to his presence here, though as you said, it doesn't actually constitute a valid one. RE: Lampshade Bar and Grill - Malayan Singapura - 10-25-2017 Can we skip to the bottomline please ? Is there any legal chance of me repealing my banjection officially in two years ? I would like to get the legal process mapped out before getting it eventually initiated. I already solved the legal whatnot elsewhere plus it would seem sincere if I had to interact to the TSP again. Lampshade Bar and Grill - Kris Kringle - 10-25-2017 There definitely are ways to get your ban lifted. I'm not sure how appropriate it would be for me to give you legal advice, however. -- @Drall: Why though? If someone is following the rules of this forum, shouldn't they be allowed to remain here? Obviously we make exceptions for more serious egregious cases, but as a general rule, I don't think we should be banning people who happened to break rules there, but not here. Ultimately warnings and bans should serve to deter problem behaviour, so if the user doesn't display it here, that really should do it. Ultimately warnings and bans should serve to deter problem behaviour, so if the user doesn't display it here, that really should do it. It's always made sense to me that if an individual is banned for their behaviour gameside, that ban should naturally extend to the forums, the discord, and all of the region's property. It's a harsher outlook, but I don't believe that an individual who broke the rules gameside and was banned for it should be allowed to hang around any offsite extension of the region. -- @Malayan Singapura - You were banned by order of the Local Council, so it logically follows that the Local Council would have to, for some reason, order your ban lifted. For that to happen, you would need to demonstrate extraordinary changes in your behaviour. I haven't seen any evidence of that yet. There isn't a set out legal process of forms you need to fill out. Prove yourself to have changed, demonstrate that you've see the error of your ways, and over the next few months we'll see. Lampshade Bar and Grill - Kris Kringle - 10-25-2017 *shrugs* I see warnings and bans as deterrent. We want to avoid certain troublesome behaviour, so we make it punishable. If the person drops that behaviour, and hasn't caused major harm, I don't see any reason to further punish them by extending the ban to other venues. The lesson would have already been learned. Obviously we make exceptions for the more serious cases, and Court-mandated bans are another matter, but for normal moderation stuff, I think we should err on the side of leniency, if we see that the person is interested in making amends. Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk RE: Lampshade Bar and Grill - Drall - 10-25-2017 Fair enough. I can see it being best dealt with on a case by case basis, which this system does facilitate nicely. I'll likely stay set in my harsher ways though RE: Lampshade Bar and Grill - Malayan Singapura - 10-26-2017 So basically there is no way to repeal it legally on gameside whatsoever if I choose to play this game when matured ? I think the reasons I got banjected was that my age ain't suitable yet to play these games. I dont want to jeopardize my own name in the future just because I did something stupid now. If there is no way to repeal it, if I came back here under a new alias at 18 & don't cause any trouble, would I get any legal warnings ? Lampshade Bar and Grill - Kris Kringle - 10-26-2017 You could always ask an LQ about legal guarantees in gameside bans, I suppose, if you really want to have a definitive answer. I'm just thinking off the top of my head, so don't take this as official (as in, from the Court) encouragement of anything. Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk |
