Techganet has just successfully conducted a test launch of its newly developed intercontinental ballistic missile, named Chamirunqakutad-3, conducted from the Ikscherukyrshz Air Force Base in Lymnfrees. The new iteration of the ICBM improves on the accuracy and range of its predecessor, and will see proliferation in the next month, adding to the empire’s vast nuclear arsenal.

The Frost Empire has expressed concern over the Techganet decision to expand its nuclear arsenal in the wake of unconfirmed reports that Izaakia may be trying to form its own version of the BU. Foreign Minister Kuribayashi stated,

"Techganet's decision to expand its nuclear arsenal is concerning and has the potential to destabilize the region by starting a new arms race between nations aligned with the Izaakians and those directly opposed such as those belonging to the BU. Now some may point to The Empire's hesitation join the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear weapons and claim that it is hypocritical to express such concerns when the Frost Empire continues to reserve the right to create and maintain a nuclear arsenal. However, as a state that has endured a nuclear strike by armed insurgents, it is important that the Empire continues to cooperate with the region to limit the proliferation of such weapons for regional stability and so it finds Techganet's decision to undermine regional stability regrettable."

The United States of Izaakia rejects suggestions that it is inciting a nuclear arms race. Stating it’s clear policy on nuclear weapons of a limited but technically advanced arsenal, which will never be used to strike first. With Izaakias main nuclear strategy to prevent a nuclear strike on Izaakia via advanced early warning systems and missile defence, with nuclear shelters widely available in Izaakia. 

The United States of Izaakia further encourages all other nuclear capable nations to limit the size of their Nuclear Arsenals to a manageable level that can readily be secured, to prevent a repeat of the Nuclear incident in the Frost Empire where insurgents gained access to nuclear weapons. Larger arsenals merely endanger the world through less control, whilst not increasing the effectiveness of the deterrent.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Dainv Iabhiklurs released a statement this afternoon in response to a query regarding the Frost Empire's remarks:

"Techganet is not a party to the Treaty of the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, so there is no obligation on our part to limit the proliferation of our nuclear armament. With a state as large as ours, economically, politically, and socially, it is extremely important that we have an absolutely comprehensive defence system, and the inclusion of a nuclear arsenal is necessitated by this. Additionally, the main purpose of our nuclear arms is meant to be a deterrent, and will never be used as first contact, nor will it be used to aggress or threaten other sovereign countries.

We would also like to express that the Izaakians are one of our closest allies, and we support each other in our endeavours in the advancement of regional security."

The Ryccian Federation has ordered for 500 nuclear weapons to be constructed. Citing the need for "self-defense", the Ryccian Federation has reiterated its nuclear policy of never striking first, only doing so if a nuclear attack is directed at Ryccian territory or its allies.

Izaakia calls for a treaty on banning nuclear proliferation, condemning the causal approach which nations are proliferating their nuclear arsenals. Calling this a huge step in the wrong direction, particularly on the part of rogue nations such as Ryccia and N&GB where the stability and sanity of governance must also be questioned.
