It is early morning, about time when people start to go to work. As the President settles into the First Office, his Chief of Staff hands him the President's Daily Brief. It contains most of the newest confidential informations and reportings from Bzerneleg's intelligence agencies.
"Doug?" asked the President for the Chief of Staff's attention.
"Yes, sir?" replied Chief of Staff Douglas Stamper.
"I was given a letter from the RDC's President today. He decided to rejoin the Grovne [Non-Aggression] Pact. Our primary ally is officially soon not going to commit acts against any of the pact parties."
"Sir, people and countries are losing their patience. They want the Reizen Civil War to end."
"I understand. Give me some alone time to think. And also, please schedule a meeting with the Executive Committtee [for the Reizen Civil War] later today."
"Yes, sir."
The Chief of Staff exits the room as the President begins to draft a response to the letter of his RDC counterpart.
PRESIDENTIAL MANSION
BELMONT, BE 10002
June 7, 2019
Mr. Arata Minshu
President of the Reizen Democratic Coalition
Dear Mr. Minshu,
I would like to express my pride and gratitude in having the Coalition as our ally. We have together faced tremendous challenges and difficulties along the way, however the energy and devotion which our leaders and troops brought to our cause were astounding. A cause for peace, freedom and democracy, that is what I hope will continue to sustain the relations between our two people.
Regarding your request for testimony before our Parliament, I would suggest you to rather make an address at a joint meeting of Parliament. This would allow the topic of your speech to be more broad and versatile and the audience would be much larger.
Last but not least, I wish to seek your counsel on the question of whether we should work with the Workers' Party of Reizen, and even further, the Frost Empire to secure future freedom and democracy in Reizen. The current political situation is requiring us more and more to set aside our bitter differences and work with other parties with hope and determination to defend and secure our interests through such cooperation.
