New Minister of Engagement
#16

With Anjo having accepted candidacy for Chair of the Assembly, it is unlikely that he will be available for this assignment.

Oshiega has only sent three messages in MoE since I accepted him, and if he's active in other places I can't really see it. Perhaps you all have interacted with him more than I have, but I'm not sure dropping him into the slot would be a positive thing for either him or the ministry.

When I announced my resignation in the MoE staff chat, Vietnam responded that he's available for taking over. I think he is my preference, based on the experience and interest, for the remainder of the term. For the actual work that MoE does, Viet is the most qualified, and may be the only person qualified.

I understand the concerns about it being seen as "his department". Like I've mentioned in my thread, I'm not sure MoE can or should be treated as a social ministry since it is primarily used for production and service-based work that few people by volume are qualified to do. I genuinely believe that it is best to reduce Engagement to an OWL-level department or preferrably an admin-run circle of development to help the general continuity of infrastructure and reduce the rather unreasonable expectations on the ministry. This is based on my first-hand perspective as the ministry's head over the last couple months, understanding that a great deal of TSP relies on it to do what it does.

The Ministry of Media is better suited to propaganda and integration, and I think the general process of doing that is not unreasonable for casual gameside people to hop into, whereas it is unreasonably difficult here.

So best advice: Accept Viet, do something in the Assembly that reconciles these roles. MoE is unviable, at present, with the situation it is in but the existing infrastructure needs to be competently preserved until that happens.
