The Darkstraitese admiral surveyed the situation.
"Sir, we've successfully covered the shoreline," a lieutenant said. "Even if all of our ships are disabled, they'll have a lot of difficulty reaching it."
"Excellent. Begin deploying landing ships. Even if they break through, we'll have a defensive line ready and waiting in the treeline. And everyone knows you don't just charge across an area devoid of cover at a treeline unless you've scouted it first."
"As you say, sir," replied the lieutenant.
Landing ships began to hit the Ryccian beaches. Darkstraitese troops ran for the treeline. Some of the ships carried tanks, artillery, or trucks filled with sandbags and machine guns. These rolled into the woods as well.
In the forest, Darkstraitese troops began setting up machine gun nests and sniper posts. Tanks and artillery covered more open areas. The troops were ready.

Meanwhile, over Daonlathas, the fighters shot missiles at any groups of armed Ryccians. In the tunnels, Darkstraitese soldiers began to push back Ryccian troops. An hour later, the tunnels had been liberated.
