At present, the Assembly operates using the following system:

Designation of bills — referred to in the below codes as '(Code)' — aid in the organisation of the Legislative History and the Assembly Record. These codes are arranged sequentially and organised by the year, month, and order in which the bill is brought to a vote.
For example, ' A1901.01' indicates the bill is the first vote (.01) of January 2019 (1901). Similarly, the sixth vote of March 2020 would be record as ' A2003.06'. |
I propose the Assembly Administration Team considers a significant expansion of this system wherein every past bill is retitled with a new designation as the prefix to the title.
Let us use this code, '
A.A.LPA.05', as an example:
By doing so, if a Legislator wishes to locate all threads relating to the
Legislative Procedure Act, they need only to use the
search function of the forum, narrow the search parameters to 'search titles only' and search for '
LPA' in the Assembly's sub-forum and archive. The results page will show the discussion and voting threads of every bill relating to the relevant Act.
