[Aurora] Introduction to the Kingdom of Threnebor, Realm of the Mountain Dwarves
#2

Government
The Kingdom is lead by King  Under The Mountain who holds absolute power, as his reign is divine, and is assisted by his advisory council, the Council of Masters, of which each member is head of an Office (ministry) or a Lordhood of another Dwarven city. The monarch can only be succeeded by a male heir as female are not allowed by law. The King reigns from his Adamantian Throne in the Royal Halls of Threnebor and above it, sits the Threnenstone. The King is the highest authority in the Kingdom and none can contradict his will, even if he goes mad. It is also forbidden for  the King to abdicate as this would undermine his divinity. This is because of the Threnenstone, which is said from legends to hold magical power.

Members of the Council of Masters are appointed by the King and they can appoint different members within their ministries. This process is highly meritocratic and exclusive to Thronurin's Folk. The King also appoints the Lord of a new mountain city, who then become hereditary titles. These Lords help the King to govern the cities through a feudal system, but none can claim another's territory and intermarriage is strictly forbidden as to not create contenders for the Admantian Throne. The Lords also have a seat on the Council of Masters. In total the Council of Masters holds six Dwarf Lords and seven Masters who are responsible for the Offices (Office of Agriculture, Office of Treasury, Office of Trade, Office of Magic, Office Artisanship, Office of Mining, Office Transport). They advise the King on matters of state and cannot overrule his word.

Members of the Council of Masters:
Lord of Gorlum, Borroth, son of Brosgroth
Lord of Thronlim Hobroin, son of Habloin
Lord of Thormur Gamli son of Glain
Lord of Tirloic Orumli, son of Orloin
Lord of Droic Doic, son of Thoic Ironfoot
Lord of Gardulim, Dwen son of Dwac
Master of Agriculture, Molvon, son of Golvon
Master of Treasury, Throil, son of Thrail
Master of Trade, Tholvum, son of Thalvum
Master of Magic, Thaigu, son of Fregu
Master of Artisanship, Grelror, son of Khul
Master of Mining, Gleben, son Glemlen
Master of Transport, Flagi, son of Lain

The rulers of market towns, Masters, can be elected by the local populace, but in the end the approval of the King is needed. These Masters of Towns serve for life or until abdicated by populace, own will or the King. They are responsible for the day to day operations of a city. Contrary to the other governmental functions, Masters of Towns are not excluded to Mountain Dwarves and are often seen uphold by men.
