It seems that after a year of waiting due to protests and strikes, I will finally be able to start university. Went there to confirm the start date (October 2nd), and to choose my classes/subjects.
By God the commute is hellish. Had to spend an hour waiting for a bus, and the thing ended up full. Had to make the 30 minute-long ride standing up, as every seat was full. Also, the Caracas metro-system is cheap, but overcrowded as hell. One of the trains I took had some malfunction in which only one of the doors opened, meaning that, as everyone was scrambling to exit, some idiot behind me (I'm using some self control to not call her something worse) pushed me hard, making me trip. Then the door closed without warning, with half of my body still inside (yes, it's exactly what you're picturing). When it finally opened and realized how close I had been to be cut in half, I flipped that idiot (and the rest of the train) the bird. Good stuff. *drinks celebratory beer*
