(IC) What happened to Flight HIA 402?
#35

For the sake of keeping the conversation as fluid for the reader, each character has been assigned a colour.

General Representative Romana Madisum
Oppositor Representative Thérasia Landrum
Chair of the National Convention Alicia Castellum

A debate was raging in the National Convention on the handling of the research mission to locate missing flight HIA 420.

"Order in the Chamber please. This emergency sitting as been called by the Oppositor Representative and Representative of Céruléa-Aquila. You have the floor."

"I thank the Chair for this intervention. The point of this emergency sitting is quite clear. Do we still have the confidence in the President? We have now sent two ships to help the international race in the search of a crashed plane and where are the results? Was this even necessary? I know the President likes the new spotlight our nation has received ever since our World Forum Representative has been elected to the speakership, but where does it end? Does the President really need to be putting out people and money out there? When we have problems here in Anserisa? When our economy, that has been impacted by a blockade which, may I remind the Chamber, was started during his tenure as President as yet to fully recover. And what more than the brilliant idea to allow for a foreign military installation to be build on our great lands, only to anger again the Frost Empire, and in exchange of what? Some highways and an airport? This administration is turning into a farce and I believe we deserve answers or it will be time to call an emergency sitting of our Congress to demote the President."

Applause erupted from the right-side benches, where the opposition is sitting, in the National Convention

"Order in the Chamber please. The General Representative shall have the floor."

"I thank the Chair for this intervention. I believe the Oppositor Representative is bringing good points forward. We should indeed never help the fellowship of nations, because when we will be needing their help, we should never be getting it. I mean, we had to do what had to be done to help some of our allies in the search for this crashed plane. The President is moving forward, and as he announced, the FAA Fabricium is going to head straight for Winston Island to refuel. We know the crew of the crashed helicopter has been seen and they are alive and well. These are good news. And we are making progress with the deep-sea searches. The President also mentioned in this morning's briefing that his team was working on ways to acquire more intel, to find this wreckage and prove once and for all that Anserisa is not a small nation, but a strong one, of which we should be all proud, so that when the Republican Alliance reaps the benefits from our great handling of the administration of this nation, we can remind the Anserisans that it is the Socialist Union that brought Anserisa to the good place it is right now!"

Cheers erupted this time from the left-side of the Chamber where the Socialist Union is located

Earlier, in the Office of the President, the President was giving his orders

"So these are your orders Commander, you continue the deep-sea searches and your team tries to intercept any signal that may help us do a better search. In the mean time we are sending the FAA Fabricium to the rented facilities in Winston Island to refuel. I'll be sending one plane of the Special Forces to Winston Island to help with the Fabricium, they will be able to help with the mission afterward, once the ship is refuelled. That will be all Commander."
