Demilitarization
#101

I do not see the point in the SPSF anymore, I think we should have a militia, people can sign up for it knowing that they only need to do anything if it is any emergency. I think that would be much better than the SPSF and we would see many more members.

That's easily implemented under the current legislation. It's not a choice between one or the other.

Then there'd be no need for a MoA. No need for Generals.

Just the orders of the Delegate.

You'd essentially be removing the SPSF.

And this would essentially be EVERY endorser of the Delegate.

So?

No, it'd be people who actually sign up to be in the Civil Guard. Anyone can endorse the Delegate, but people in the Civil Guard would have a specific mandate to do that, in there interests of regional security, and also to help allied transitions. We have an engaged group of people, we improve awareness on endorsement levels, and can assist our allies. Everybody wins.

So the people who dedicated their time, effort, and sleep trying to make update wins?

I fail to see how making emotional arguments is relevant to this debate.

This zero sum nonsense that we can either have a militia or have an army is getting annoying. They are not mutually exclusive.

It's not that we can't have both, it's that it's a waste of time and resources to have both.
