[ARAMANCHOVIA - BONAUGURE - ESTAR - HENN - RYCCIA - SOPO - SAM111] We have been doing a great deal of things, but so far we have not actually planned an event for the region to participate in, and I think that needs to change. I will be starting or reviving threads on different activities that we need to do, and closely follow their progress. In this thread I want to start discussions on organising a forum and gameside festival on February. Right now I'm open for any ideas that you guys might have, regarding how to implement this on both the forum and gameside, but overall I'd look to the Celebration Pavilion archive for inspiration. Well, the only real holiday/celebration I can really think of in February is Valentine's Day, and honestly, I don't really feel like doing a theme around that (although it would be possible).
Maybe use a theme from a popular TV show/movie/book/game? Plenty you can choose from if we do that. Could always run a poll to choose that way. Too early here for me to think of much sorry.
I never said that the festival *needs* to be based on a real holiday. I am open to any possibility, be it a book, movie, or simply our region's tropical theme.

Well, we missed Christmas, so how about a winter theme?
It's (meant to be) Summer here. So maybe not a winter theme.
Yes, I know it doesn't need to be based on a holiday, which is why I suggested probably something else. Maybe go to Wikipedia and click "random article" until we find a usable theme? Attempt 1: United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia Attempt 2: Scott Holstein ... Yeah, that will possibly take a while...

How about a mafioso gangster style festival? Like Capone or the Godfather eras?
How about a mixture between northern Summer Festivals with Carnival? Somehow dealing with shop stalls, parades and fireworks/sky-lanterns...
I say we do a Zombies type thing.
A Zombie RP would probably be pretty popular, like the Sporaltryan War.
I was thinking that a "mafia" topic for the February festival can be well mixed with a "SummerFest/Carnival", like saying that some stalls could be run from the mafia HQ as money laundery or something.
Meanwhile the "zombie" one would be great with some "harvest festival" later on. We might need some help from game developers to design the stalls, with games, RP and prizes... Meanwhile the floats for the parades could be made as one per alliance (like the SCO) inside TSP. It'd be good to have somebody "a little bit crazy" to narrate (as a news commentator) the events... and if we make it last a week, there could be more than one commentator taking turns to spice things up. |
