Following the decision by the BU to attempt to blockade izaakia, which the foreign minister Charles Boulangerie described as “clearly absurd, and done last minute on a public holiday to ensure the opposition was away, with only two votes, this is clearly an illegitimate vote”, the ministry of defence has begun equipping merchant vessels at port with anti piracy measures and will place Marines on all vessels departing or approaching izaakian ports.
The Primeminister Valkyrie Mountbatten called this move “an illegitimate act of piracy, and I must warn that we do not fire warning shots at pirate vessels, the BU must cease its illegal actions or face the consequences”, she later instructed that no vessel should surrender to BU control and that counter measures would be announced in the coming days if there was not a change in direction.

Aberlil Berlyne, the minister of foreign affairs of the Federal Republic of Besern has condemned the decision by the Balitem Union to attempt to blockade the country of Izaakia and the vote in the Balitemmic Parliament that approved of the blockade.

"If a blockade can force their foe's hands into their demands without undermining the Izaakians according to the Balitemese, one has exceeded the possibilities of human stupidity. If abstention means an ignored vote, then I might as well question the fairness of the entire vote." She quoted rhymingly in a press conference.

The Peocracy of Huawan also condemns the blockade of Izaakia, explaining that actions taken by the Bailtem Union are "petty" and "would not solve anything but undermine Izaakia's populace" The office of Foreign Affairs by High Diplpmat Diao Chan, further scrutinized that less than 50% of the Bailtem Union voted in the blockade, following news that the edict was passed 2-0 in the BU

Izaakia removes the designation of Plot 1 in embassy dome as the Eareamland embassy following suspension of ties in October. The plot will be open to reassignment to other nations. Foreign Minister Charles Boulangerie said “ this is a sad reflection of how far izaakian/eamreamian relations have fallen in 2020, that we no longer see the need to keep the embassy free as we have no intention of ever reopening diplomatic ties. Furthermore we are removing recognition of eareamland as a state, and will refer to the state in future documents as as the Pirate Fiefdom of Seraiem bay.

Following an announcement by the High Priest of FiHami, 65 new mothers who delivered their children on the Winter Solstice arrived at the temple of Ri-Ha'Fi-nix to present their newborn children to the priest.

The announcement: "Ha'Finix came to me in a dream last night, that on the Winter Solstice, a child was born that will continue its legacy on Earth as Ha'Coron'."

Constitutional Crisis

Izaakia has been plunged into a constitutional crisis today after Empress Astrid was arrested after taking part in an illegal street race in la Montagne. The empress evaded her private security before joining an underground event. The event was stopped by police half way through, and Empress Astrid was arrested and her car impounded. It is believed she was leading the race.
She was immediately released on bail, and police are consulting legal experts on whether they can press charges. Historically the monarch has always been immune from prosecution. The parliamentary schedule has been postponed so this subject matter is to be debated over the next few days.
She is said to have been driving the Ice Shark Victor at the time of her arrest.

Legal experts conclude that the monarch is in fact immune from all prosecution and charges cannot be raised. Parliament is set to vote on a bill that limits the monarchs immunity to acts committed in the role of monarch and not acts committed outside of the role as head of state.
