Montwælda Empress Astrid and Emperor Consort Hugo returned from their honeymoon on the Costa Headonistika today, ahead of the official opening of parliament tomorrow. Although the ceremony is no longer required to open parliament and indeed parliamentary business has begun over the last few days since the election, the official opening of parliament is perhaps the peak of Izaakian pomp and ceremony, which culminates in the Empress Speech where Empress Astrid will outline her governments business over the next parliamentary term.
This will be the Empresses first royal occasion as Montwælda Empress, a term derived from ancient Montacian to mean Mountain Wielder and is traditionally used after the marriage of the Emperor/Empress to signifying their supremacy over their spouse who formally has the title of Emperor/Empress but wields no constitutional power.

A large amount of citizens broke into Sreth Palace claiming the election was rigged as the Kanonas Party leader did state before the election they were the only party that could win.

Empress Astrid will open parliament tomorrow following a three day delay which neither the Palace or Parliament have commented on. Speculation is that the government is proposing actions the Empress has been unwilling to support. However, the deadlock appears to have been lifted.

In the Empress Speech today Empress Astrid outlined her governments policies of economic and environmental reform and the strengthening of Izaakian defence and manufacturing capabilities during the coming parliament. Then at the end of her speech she announced democratic reforms, including the abolition of unelected House of Lords in favour of a Lords Senate nominated by the political parties and elected in proportional representation system. Furthermore after over four millennia at the peak of Montacian and Izaakian society the monarchy will be abolished in all but name, the monarch will no longer be head of state, hold any state functions, be funded by the state and will be required to vacate state owned premises, notability the Montacia Palace in Izaakston where the new office of President will be based. However, the royal family will retain their official titles in name, and empress Astrid vowed to continue her work for charity and the betterment of Izaakian society, but will be moving from Izaakia to Montacia to move away from the centre of power.
Izaakia will officially become a Republic on April 5th 2021, Easter Monday, a day that signifies rebirth and resurrection in both the Christian and Pagan religions dominant in Izaakia, Montaica and Brodlancia.

Izaakias largest Technology firm Taiga Electronics has teamed up with Izaakias largest car manufacturer The Ice Shark Motor Corporation to create new battery manufacturing capabilities. The joint venture will be named Volt Sceptre Industries after the Imperial Sceptre which was forged from the lightning rod of the Storm Chair, an ancient method of trial and execution in Montacia.
The New facilities will be based in Port Deception (Primarily focused on exports) and Manta City (Primarily focused on the Izaakian Market) and are expected to quadruple Izaakian battery production by the first quarter of 2022.

Former MP Courtney Wiley has died aged 29 years old of an undiagnosed epileptic seizure. Wiley was the MP for Prospector City from the 2015 General Election until the 2017 snap General Election, when Sidney Ward of the Modern Marxist Party was elected in her place. She was a member of the Alliance Party. Funeral arrangements later.

Citizens lined the streets of Izaakston for the final imperial procession in Izaakian history. Montwalda Empress and Emperor rode out from Montacia Palace in Izaakston today for the final time, proceeding towards the parliament building where in a formal ceremony she handed the Storm Sceptre which is the symbol of Izaakian power to Dr Stella Blanc, who then swore herself in as the First President of the Republic of Izaakia.
The Imperial family who will still hold their titles in name then proceeded by carriage along streets packed with well wishers and lined with white roses crossing the bridge over the New Mako straights and proceeded to Fort Mako which will become their private residence in Izaakia.
Questions are now being asked about where President Stella Blanc will take Izaakia. At the age of 27 she now controls one of the worlds largest economies and most formidable militaries with no remaining constitutional bounds and limits. Will she build a new and unified democratic nation, or does absolute power absolutely corrupt?

Finance minister Charles Boulangerie announces a huge investment in Izaakian industries to develop domestic capabilities and supply line security.

The include;
A $400 million state of the art Vaccine producing centre in conjunction with the Pharmaceutical giant The Glacier Corporation. The vaccine producing centre is expected to be one of the largest of its kind in Pacifica.

$2 Billion into offshore wind and solar power through Zephyrus Power and Starbright Energy in montacia and Brodlancia to bring them inline with Izaakia for net zero carbon emissions by 2022.

$4.3 Billion investment in upgrading military and aircraft production at D’Attack and Aeronaughtica

£10billion in small/medium business grants and loans.

£30 billion in business loans available through the Vault Banking Corporation, The Royal Bank of Izaakia and The Polar City Global Investment Bank to expand the foot print of Izaakian corporations abroad, to increasingly connect Izaakia to the outside economic world and increase Izaakian soft power. UniCorp, Izea, Pine Tree and Core have all put forward proposals for expansion.

The state is also understood to be interested in acquiring a market share key infrastructure industries in nations across Izaakia. Plans are still in the early phase, however energy, water and public transport are believed to be at the top of the priority list.

The Ryccian Federation has given its support for the Hystaigan resistance, celebrating the Supreme Voice's liberation from what it considers to be "illegal captivity". Ryccia has invited the Supreme Voice and any of her immediate subordinates to take refuge in Ryccia and establish a government-in-exile if the rebellion fails.
