The Presidential Palace has released the first official presidential portrait. The portrait will be used on official stamps and currency in the new republic.

Valkyrian Chancellor Stella Kaufman congratulated Dr. Stella Blanc on becoming President of Izaakia, "The Stellas of the world are the brightest among us."

Today President Stella Blanc announced that Izaakia will formally change its name from the Imperial Kingdom of Izaakia to become the United States of Izaakia in Austral, États Unis D’Izaakique in Boreal and Montwelda Demokratika in Montacian. Formal applications will be made to international organisations over the coming months and letters of notice will be sent to foreign embassies in Izaakia to inform them of the change.

She also announced that cross party consultations will begin to write a constitution of the United States of Izaakia. The constitution will be the first constitution in Izaakian history as traditionally Izaakia has not had a constitution and relied on tradition. However, Dr Stella Blanc said that “Recent abuses of power have brought clarity to Izaakia over the need of formal processes to limit the power of our leaders and hold them accountable, and that in the modern age traditions and precedents are no longer sufficient to secure democracy”.

Space Minister Anastasia Glacé announced that 100% operational coverage of Cosmosnet across Pacifica will be brought forward to July as a part of the governments Barefoot policy to expand the United States of Izaakias footprint around the globe without putting boots on the ground.

The Local Election for MP of Ballater is taking place today to elect Alejandro Ebert's replacement on his retirement from full-time politics. Polling stations open at 7AM today and close at 10PM tonight.

Famous posh gossip magazine “Tittle-tattle” publishes their who’s who of the most influential poshos of the year. President Stella Blanc the 27 year old Head of State, former Investment Banker, Diplomat and alumni of Bishops St Ottery School and Imperial College Izaakston came in at top spot.
2nd and 3rd Place were taken up by former primeminister Ernest Le Rogue and his son Develop Minister Clive Le Rogue.
Other government ministers who made it into the top 50 include Education Minister Eurus Volk #7, Foreign Minister Athena Popadomalus #23 and Space Minister Anastasia Glacé at #43.
The greatly diminished opposition have been questioning how such an aristocratic government could possibly address inequality and create more equal opportunities.

Prime Minister Barrett has announced that she has lung cancer. The Prime Minister said delays in healthcare have led to the delay in her treatment for it. She has stated that this is the mystery reason for her planned absence in June. She said she will be having an operation and the resulting treatment and rest will require a brief step back from her duties as Prime Minister. She said during this time, she will temporarily serve as a Vice-Prime Minister and will return to Prime Minister as soon as she has recovered. She has named Luke Phelps as the Prime Minister for the duration of her absence, starting in June.

The Ballater Local Election has concluded. Counting of votes takes place all day today and tomorrow with the results being announced tomorrow evening.

A leaked Government document suggests Prime Minister Barrett will appointing Kenneth Kelley as a Vice-Prime Minister later in the year but it is not clear who he is replacing. Commenting on the leak, Prime Minister Barrett said, 'No-one knows the future, not even me. Wait and see.'
