The United States of Izaakia openly admits to possessing nuclear weapons for the first time as official documents referring to nuclear weapons testing in 1956 become public after a freedom of information request following the expiry of a 65 year official secrets clause. Ending a long term policy of nuclear ambiguity, the government has declared the possession of around 1800 nuclear warheads, which it can deploy via a continued at sea deterrent, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and deployed via bomber planes. The government also made clear its position in opposition of a nuclear first strike.

The United States of Izaakia signs a series of deals for overseas military bases. IAF Glempo in Eflad, a currently unused airstrip is to be converted for use by the Izaakian Air Force, in a reciprocal agreement, Eflad will develop a base for training in Montacia. Additionally, training exercises between the two airforces will occur on a regular basis.

Two military regiments are to be based in Doge Land in a regiment at Mountainton, and an Alpine Regiment stationed in the mountain region in the west. An airforce base called IAF Doge is to be developed in IAF Doge.

Two fully operational bases are to be leased in Ikarana at IAF Fontra and IAF Ikerea.

Eflad confirms the signing of an defence pact with Izaakia, which includes the IAF Glempo and an Efladian base in Montacia.
Efladian ministers also announced that joint military exercises, especially naval exercises, will be conducted with the Gianlucan Naavy and Coast Guard in the Astro sea.

A train has exploded at Cræfoi Main Railway Station around 25 minutes ago. The historic Station building (commonly known as "The Pillar" due to the large amounts of pillars) is on fire. Casualties are still unknown.
the question remains, whether this was a terroris attack by the FF.

The junta has reacted furiously to the new treaties signed by its neighbors with Izaakia, pledging to "inflict the most severe consequences possible" towards them. Border security is now being increased. The Mirrey government, on the other hand, has condemned Izaakia's action as "inflammatory, provocative and hostile". Izaakian diplomats have been summoned by Mirrey to protest this decision.

In response to the Ryccians increasing border security, the effort to get Doge Landian troops and equipment on the border has sped up. In addition, the amount of troops being moved to the border has been increased from 50,000 to 100,000. Troops are currently entrenched on the border around the western side of Mountainton.

As a result of the deals with Izaakia making the potential Besernian deal that was in discussion way before any Izaakian deal was discussed with Doge Land redundant, this morning, a Parliamentary Secretary of State from the Ministry of Defense has angrily, albeit also acknowledging, irrationally, contacted his equivalent in the Minister of Foreign Affairs asking him to cancel said deal and close these discussions with Doge Land. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has yet to act on his request and has not responded to any press enquiries.
