Linking the western continent by train
#1

Dear Friends

The International Knights have developed a railroad system that runs on a new design of electromagnets, state of the art superconductors, and a train so slippery, it would exhibit very little air resistance. Due to the train levitating on electromagnets, there are no friction, and therefore the train could speed up at a safe speed of 1000 mph, or 1609 km/h.

The blueprints for this train is confidential for the time being, however our summary is that the Maglev Technology is not as expensive as thought. Our researches at the Knights Rail Society, or K.N.I.R.A.S, has invented an electromagnetic system that is more affordable than before, just a tad bit more expensive than the high speed rail. So, in order to build the rail, it is over 900.000 platinums per 100 km in the International Knights currency in order to make the rail, the system is also flexible, meaning there is little to no change in funs when we need to go over a mountain or land, for example. Digging through a mountain, or purchasing the land is of course pricy, and building the rails across the South Pacifician sea is totally out of question, wether or not we build it through bridges or underwater tunnels.

Nevertheless, the only primary concern is building the railway, our trains will be made at K.N.I.R.A.S, and the funds making these trains come from various private investors, notably the 'Forevermore Intercontinental Connection.' Our main investor and partner in making these railway lines.

Now, we do not ask for any funds from other countries, all we ask is to support this project. As our main goal is to link the entire South Pacific continents, with our MagLev railroad, starting from our main continent, the Western Continent. We ask that support from all nations of the South Pacific to allow us link the entire continent with the maglev railroad. We ask support, and some of your brightest engineers and architects to help us with this project.

The blueprint will be unveiled soon, and now I ask, what do you think of this plan? To link every single nation by Maglev.

Now then, the simplest way across is by linking the Rainbow islands together. If you're going to try spanning across the middle of the ocean I'll stop you right now.

Even if your PMT maglev is cheaper that doesn't solve the cost of the bridge. 22 bridges would need to be built, all of them over 100km long (many being longer than the longest RL bridges, and some of the shortest as long as the longest RL ocean-spanning bridges). Extrapolating costs from this longer length and builtbuilding across the ocean, I estimate costs of at least $50-100 million per bridge and a total cost in the ballpark of 2 trillion. (Roughly the entire federal budget of China.)

So our engineers, politicans and taxpayers are all saying no to this.

Perhaps, that is why we are going inch, by inch. So, We are thinking of linking nation to nation. Once we can find an alternative way to build the costly bridge, or acquire enough funds, or, find a way to link the continents at a shorter distance. We'd start building intercontinental trains.

But for now, our engineers would say that we should instead link nation by nation in their respective continents. By the way, the Bering Strait crossing, between the Russian Chukotka peninsula and the US Seward Peninsula, that links both the Asian and the North American continent has not been complete until now, but the railroads that connects nations together, is already finished.

So, to summarise, let's just build inter-country routes in a continent before we start linking two continents together shall we?

I hope that solves it, Friend Farengeto, but any alternative solution or amendment would be received in open arms and open minds.

This would be VERY expensive, and could take a big chunk of our budget. So, no. The King, the government, the engineers, the economists... all say no. That would be our final response.

This is a dream that cannot be accomplished, even if you tried. Plus, workers could die if they fall. And oh boy they can drown.

we repeat, the Intercontinental plan could be saved for a later time.

However, we must link every city in each continent first, using our Maglev technology. What is the point in making a bridge is there is nothing on either side of the continents to connect the bridge to.

Besides, even though it's expensive, we have stated this:

"Now, we do not ask for any funds from other countries, all we ask is to support this project.......We ask that support from all nations of the South Pacific to allow us link the entire continent with the maglev railroad. Will this be free for the people or will it cost a fee for passangers?(Like buying a ticket and such)

If fees are the option, then can we get some profit as well?

Sporaltryus and Aquica will never support nations benefiting from international projects.

Well, if you wanna build here, we need to benefit at least. Even if it is a small fee in our nation and not in yours.

Won't this benefit our economies?
