SPSF Field Report I

It was a quiet night. A blank, tan-ish flag was hoisted over the main building, all the soldiers were sleeping in the barracks, all except for a single guard, who was stationed in an observatory tower over the compound. The guard was watching the skies over the nearby South Pacific Ocean, watching the moon reflecting over the water. What he didn't notice was the group of shadows emerging from the water. There were 6 men, each in scuba gear. They had various weapons clipped onto their belts, alongside a vast amount of other supplies. The soldiers positioned themselves on a ridge overlooking the compound. One of them spoke quietly into a radio. A slight whistling noise was heard. Then all hell broke loose as a Predator Middle struck the compound. Alarms blasted through the compound. The inhabitants began gathering arms and taking up defensive positions. Officer Arbiter the Eighth nodded towards Solda Knights, who started pegging the tangos with his sniper rifle. The sound of the rifle echoed through the night. Tangos started dropping like flies. The smart ones took cover, while the others started searching for the sniper, and were met with a bullet.

Taking the opportunity, the rest of the soldiers broke through the chain link fence surrounding the compound. They started sweeping and clearing the compound, taking prisoners as they went. Eventually, they reached the command center. They entered, only to realise that the commander, who held valuable intelligence, had locked himself in a bunker. Farengeto started searching the nearby computers for any intel or a way into the bunker. Soon-to-be Jeneral Resentine stood outside, keeping watch on the prisoners. Minister Henn watched the progress inside and monitored the various radio frequencies, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. Knights entered the compound, sealing the entrance behind him. He took up a position on the main compound, watching for any outsiders. They had done it. The South Pacific Special Forces had taken the compound known as "A Blank Canvas".

That is, until Farengeto reported that the commander inside the bunker had sent out a distress beacon. Defenders were on their way. Solda Kyorgia and another were dropped off to lend support. The Special Forces took up positions inside the compound. Two helicopters were spotted heading this way. Solda Kyorgia pulled out a Javelin anti-air rocket and took aim at one of the helicopters. He fired, and the helicopter swerved to the side to avoid it. It was in vain, as the rocket tracked it and hit in squarely in the side. The helicopter went down. The other helicopter was still coming, although unlike the other one, this one had markings revealing to to be from Spiritus. A soldier of the DEN called on the radio and offered their assistance. Arbiter accepted it, and a missile came from a valley below the helicopter. The explosion was glorious. Shrapnel was all that remained. The defenders had been repelled. However, word came from Farengeto back at the command center that more were on their way. The South Pacific Special Forces prepared themselves for a long fight.

I posted a teaser of it and a link to the forum page, as I wouldn't be able to get it looking nearly as nice as it does on here.
