In the interests of neutrality and impartially, I'm not at liberty to discuss this in public.

However, I'm confident that myself, along with the other members of Cabinet, will vote in the best interests of the region.

I can respect the desire for neutrality and impartiality, but the Cabinet is an elected, political institution -- it's appropriate for a Cabinet officer to answer questions such as this, where it may not be appropriate for a Court official to answer a question that might prejudice them in regard to a future case, for example.

My concern with this answer is it doesn't really give voters any insight into how you will vote on this matter, which is important, I think, to almost everyone, on either side of the issue. I would hope that both those who voted for and those who voted against overturning the security threat declaration believed their votes to be in the best interests of the region, so depending on your interpretation of the region's best interests, your vote could go either way. Are you sure you can't at least shed anymore light on how you might interpret the region's best interests, if you remain uncomfortable with directly answering the question?

I believe a majority of the region have already made clear what they think is the best interest for TSP in this situation, and I will respect the region's opinion on this matter. While I cannot speak for my fellow Cabinet members, I hope that they will be of the same opinion as is that of the majority.

Thank you, that definitely clears things up. Good luck -- not that you'll probably need it against RoN.  Tounge

If the thread derails into a cesspool of arguments, I will consider locking the thread for a period of time, to allow parties involved to cool down, as I've advised Sam to do on at least one occasion in the past.

This. I love this.

After reading this thread I have been left with the impression that you are mature, responsible, and capable. You have my vote for Chair, and I wish you luck in your future here in TSP.
