The Serres Republic for MoRA - Vote RON
#31

There's not a campaign. RON isn't your proxy vote. It's for people who don't think the nominees are qualified of acceptable. What about those who don't like Serres? Their RON vote is now compromised because its suddenly a vote *for* Serres? That's not how RON is supposed to work.

The bigger point I'm making, though, is that there's no actual reason to *want* to be on this cabinet so much that it's worth dragging things along for another week. You've got the Delegate saying its a caretaker cabinet. Almost all of our attention is going to be focused on the convention. This cabinet is basically a backstop for extraordinary situations that arise during the convention. If you have an ambitious agenda, this really isn't the term to pursue it.

RoN wouldn't have to work if the nomination period had been long enough. As it stands, RoN is the only way for TSR to get on the ballot. Voters can decide whether to vote RoN for that purpose -- it's not your call, and you shouldn't be pressuring anyone to abandon their campaigns.

I would hope there will still be community and cultural activities going on for however long the Great Council lasts, so I'm not sure there is no reason to want to be on this Cabinet serving in this office. Neither Punchwood nor Henn seem to think community and cultural activity is just going to stop. One reason to want to be on this Cabinet is because it may be the last elected Cabinet, a point you've completely ignored.

Regardless, clearly TSR does want to be on this Cabinet whether you think anyone should want to be or not, and it's up to each voter to decide whether or not to vote RoN to make that a possibility. You shouldn't be pressuring TSR to stop asking voters to vote RoN.

He has a right to and I urge voters not to vote for RON as well.

Two Things:

First is addressed to Sandaoguo:

I am not willing to withdraw my request for RON for two reasons 1; I am passionate about the success and growth of TSP 2; I whole heartedly believe that I am most useful to the region, in regards to my skillset and personality, as Minister of this office.

Until exactly one hour ago, when Cathalea reannounced himself as a running candidate, I had two reasons for wishing for RoN

Now I have one. I want the position, and that will never change. I would like to request that you pm me with any further discussions regarding your personal issues with my push for RoN. At this point it is cluttering my campaign thread and I do not appreciate that.

Edit: I am fully prepared to deal with any issues that may arise due to an extended period of lack of leadership in MoRA. This comes with my request for RoN I was aware of it when I originally posted, and I am aware of it now. I would not be pushing for RoN if I did not believe myself capable of dealing with the problems that would present themselves during an extended period of uncertain leadership within MoRA.

2: In light of Cathalea's recent reanouncement of running status, I would like to let voters know that I am still pushing for RoN due to my personal wish to be MoRA, however, if you are content with the candidates available, that is fine two. I would ask that everyone keep those opinions to themselves and show them through their votes rather than their words.

From this point forward I will be committing my time to addressing any more questions regarding my campaign and my plans for my time as MoRA should I be voted in. Thank you all again for your support. I await your question with baited breath Happywide

You may not appreciate it, but you'll have to deal with a lot of things you don't appreciate, the least of which being somebody calling you out on using RON inappropriately. That's honestly not that big of a deal, but I'm sure this election will be the impetus for us to get rid of it. But telling people to stop posting and start PMing you isn't going to fly as a Cabinet member.

Com'on Glen. There's no way to use RON "inappropriately." You don't have to like how it's being used currently, but this is, in fact, what's it's there for.

Indeed; this is quite literally what RON - Re-Open-Nominations - is meant for.

This is a joke we are going to vote RON as the winner we are going to further destabilise the Ministry and then elected someone who has worked in the Ministry for a matter of weeks.

Shockingly, I'll have to agree with Punchwood. We can't afford another 9 days without a Minister, not with a recently stabilized region and others.
