Factbooks and National Information
#1

For those of us who don't like using national dispatches, can we get a Factbooks and National Information subforum here for nation/world building?

Qwert did one for his nation's military. I don't see why not.

Unopposed! Gives me some room. Assuming some people post a lot, possibly subforums for nations in RP.

I had actually suggested a reorganisation of Treasure Island that included a subforum for national information. Check here for the suggested structure. I would love to get some more input on that suggestions and other possible ways of improving the organisation and visibility of our roleplay section.

I'd hesitate to simply add a new subforum without a more complete reorganisation, mostly because the idea would be to make our RP section easier to understand, and I think it'd be best if all active contributors had a voice in that. If we have broad agreement on a new structure, or on what we should change from the current one, I can make it happen soon enough.

Would this be possible? Because if it is, I'm 100% for it.

I'd suggest putting it it in a Subforum marked 'Nations' in the Factbook subforum, so that it's a hidden one, since we all know we want our own subforum.

Aye. Exactly what Henn said. That way we can all have our neat stored folders. c:

You mean individual subforums for each nation? If so, I'm afraid that won't happen. As a general rule, we are trying to make the forum layout simpler, not more convoluted, and adding subforums and subsubforums doesn't accomplish that. I'd suggest using the Draft option if you want to do WIPs. In the case of actual factbooks, it'd be better for you to make your own national thread, rather than get a whole subforum.

How would it make it convoluted? Huh

I don't think creating one subforum for each nation that wants to post its national threads would help make the forum layout simpler. You'd end up with dozens of subforums, most of them little used, if at all.

Unless I misunderstood your suggestion? Which is perfectly possible. :S
