Coup in Osiris
#11

While, I still don't really care, the fact that Europeia came out against tipped our ally count. And I imagine TRR would come out against, too.

I just want us to tread lightly.

I'd be in favour of a neutral statement along the lines of what has been suggested thus far

We have NO grounds to remove anyones citizenship based on a coup in a region we are not even allied with. That would be ridiculous

Here are the ways I see it.

-- We can totally ignore it. We do have a lot going on here and have never had a lot of input within Osiris as well.

-- We can offer a statement remaining relatively neutral. I see no reason to get in a pissing match with Cormac, but we can say something along the lines of the fact that we support democracy and hope Osiris is able to restore a democratic government.

-- We can go all in a la Euro.

I'm rather concerned that the first option is making seem like we don't care about external ish. It's not exactly a position I oppose, but I do think it makes us small.

If we go all in, I think it raises the prospects essentially as — WTF type of interest and/or involvement do we have? I mean, has anyone spoken to ANY of the parties involved?

Finally, if we go with option two, we show that we are at least paying attention while remaining hands off. We can close the embassy and wish Osiris well.

As I've said previously, I think TWP is a pretty good model for us here. We'd show we're paying attention while also giving us the flexibility to help out our allies in TNP, Euro and Spiritus should they undertake some action.

I think we do. Having coupers in the region is a bad thing in my option and we should do it on a moral basis instead of a strategic basis. And anyway since the majority of you care more about our relationship with Orisis rather than helping those who are currently suffering under a coup I would have thought you'd be in favour of coming out against this. By coming out against the coup we can re-start our relationship with Orisis once the coup is resolved.

Punch, I don't think it's that we care more about our relationship with Osiris, but my point has been that we don't have one.

(Edit: To clarify, I don't want us spouting off things we don't know what we're talking about. We don't need to become a melodramatic, drama hunting region.)

It would be as if the NPO or some other random region came out TSP during the Hileville stuff.

Did Osiris do anything at that time? I'm somewhat comfortable going tit-for-tat tbh.

Can I just ask is it allright for the SJ to publish this?

" A poll in the Assembly however found that by just one vote that the region should oppose the Transitional Government however there is still large support for TSP to remain neutral"

Some people don't want this to be part of the article as it was info from the private halls. Which I get but I was very vague as the poll was much more specific yet I just rounded it up and at the end of the day it's not super important information and most people can already see that information a few extra people is not going to ruin our security. I just wanted to check with you guys first however.

I rather not publish anything on that at this time. It's still a classified assembly thread.
