The Kensei administration has been hit with a string of setbacks in their attempts to bolster and relieve the Ikireijin garrison after the success of forcing open an evacuation corridor. The Central Government has been cut off from the island of Mibu stranding thousands of civilians hoping to escape the carnage from a potential amphibious invasion by RDP backed forces. The RDP has also threatened the supply line between Jakobsdal and Ikireijin with a renewed push to cut off the city. The Rebel Defense Network has also prevented most attempts to relieve the garrison by air by keeping the skies above Ikireijin and the Yamato Island chain contested through a combination of long range Surface to air missiles and fighters. In the seas, Reizen attack subs have been playing a deadly game of cat and mouse with Frost naval vessels in an attempt to delay a large scale naval invasion force. The Reizen submarines have also been wreaking havoc on evacuation efforts by mining the seas. This has forced the garrison to deploy its shrinking naval detachment to clear the mines and escort the evacuating naval transport ships.

The Kensei administration has issued a statement stating that, Ryccian troops must have World Forum and Imperial authorization to enter sovereign Frost territory. Any unilateral attempt to enter without proper authorization would be considered an act of war. However, aid ships and evacuation planes will be welcome.

The RDP regime has also issued their own statement stating, "Ryccian troops that enter the war on the side of the tyrant kensei will be shot on sight. However, we invite the Ryccian military to join our crusade to liberate Ikireijin from the dastardly council that have sided with the tyrants."

After receiving radio transmissions from the Sedunnic navy, the Imperial Naval Taskforce has eased its pursuit of fleeing RDP warships by pulling back and holding their positions 20 nautical miles from the Sedunnic territorial seas. However, surviving RDP warships had mistakenly believed that the Frost Naval task force had created a hole in their naval lines, and attempted to break through. In order to prevent unnecessary collateral damage inflicted upon Sedunnic authorities, the Frost Naval taskforce restricted their use of force to anti-ship missiles and armor piercing shells. Whereas, the RDP used imprecise torpedoes in addition to anti-ship missiles and armor piercing shells. The naval battle between the two sides ended in a Frost naval victory since three RDP warships were crippled while an additional two were sunk. Frost losses included 3 vessels crippled by RDP anti-ship missiles. The remaining surviving RDP vessels have fled back into a naval cage since they caught between Sedunnic authorities on one side and Imperial Frost Naval vessels on the other.

The RDP is increasingly fragmenting into 3 factions, the moderate Reizen Democratic Coalition advocating for renewed peace talks without preconditions this time; the nationalist Reizen independence movement demanding the formal Declaration of Independence and increased ties to the Kingdom of Ezervolgy to the North; and finally the Workers party of Reizen, a Communist Party demanding an escalation of the war effort in solidarity with the Bafuto Serevai and Bruuman struggle against the Imperialist coalition.

Colonel Shikiji Eram, Commander of the RDP's Ikireijin Besieging forces, decision to unilaterally declare a ceasefire has been met with severe criticism from the RDP. Members of the Reizen Independence Movement and Workers Party of Reizen have demanded his removal and nullification of the Ceasefire. Meanwhile members of the Reizen Democratic Coalition have been urging President Minshu to support Colonel Eram and use the momentum to negotiate favorable terms with the Empire.

Colonel Eram has declined to comment or explain his actions at this time. However Military Analysts have speculated on whether the Colonel's background as a member of the FSDF had a role in the cease fire. Others speculate on if he may have had some lingering sympathies to allow his former compatriots to remembering the late Ura'sia and Erinoran people.

The competing factions within the RDP have agreed to hold democratic elections to decide the next legitimate government of Reizen and stave off allegations of tyranny by their respective critics. Some RDP politicians have expressed concerns of holding elections during a time of conflict, but others have brushed the concerns aside saying, "The people must hold us accountable for our actions. If they are are unsatisfied with the way we are handling the war we must be replaced with someone else who can enact our vision of peace, prosperity, and independence."
