FiHami mourns the loss of Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi, who was pronounced dead at 21:01, 20 June 2020. She was 17 years old. She had no surviving family, but left behind a few close friends and a nation who looked up to Ha'Finix.

Ha'Coron' Puani addressed the nation at 21:30 today. A transcript of the address can be found below.

"Hello, friends of FiHami. Today, just a few short minutes ago, Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi has left us to rejoin the sun, and be a part of Ha'Finix' spirit once again.

But, I suppose we brought down a group acting violently in opposition to basic human rights, which is a massive victory for FiHami. And, we will ride the momentum of our victory against hate, and maje FiHami a great nation, as Ha'Finix would have wanted.

That's all I've got for now guys, sorry."

Nation In Mourning: Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi Dead, For Real This Time
By Us Mapoko

HA'HANI A few days ago, protesters around the University of Ha'Hani grew to a violent confrontation between the protesters and the Matriarchy Fundamentalists.  By the end of the day, the Matriarchy Fundamentalists held on to the territory, driving out the protesters and declaring the area as their territory.

Two days ago, the Matriarchy Fundamentalists demanded to talk to Ha'Coron' Finix and Ha'Coron' Puani to negotiate terms.  The next day, the Chiefs of FiHami made their way to the territory to talk peace.  This fateful confrontation proved violent, and lead to a day-long siege of the territory, where Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi was fatally wounded.

While the Matriarchy Fundamentalist counter-protesters are done for, the wound they have left on FiHami is one that will hurt for a long time.

Today was supposed to be the celebrations for the longest day of the year in FiHami, as well as Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi's 18th birthday.  But instead, celebrations nation-wide have been cancelled, as the nation mourns its hero.  The funeral service will be set for 22 June, the priest's vigil will be all day 23 June, and the final Chief's farewell will be the 24th of June.

Ha'Coron' Puani will now be the sole acting head of state.  She has assured the nation that this is, very unfortunately, real, and not another faked death in order to liberate FiHami civilians from Antarchi bases of operations.

High... Priest?
By Summer Nuess

HA'HANI A little while ago, the interim Council of Priestesses of FiHami had selected a new leading figure for the united Finixi tribes.  Their selection, however, shocked the nation and sparked equal amounts protest and celebration from various groups.

22-year-old Skai Ofiri was appointed last month as the High Priest of the United Finixi tribes following a year's gap since ex-High-Priestess Shi-Huah Tikili was executed following kidnapping almost 300 people, including the late Ha'Coron' Finix Fi'Shi, and resulting in several dead.  Many are celebrating this "unusual" appointment because of the untraditional measure of the appointment.

"Realizing that Ha'Finix was selecting a man to serve as High Priest was a shock on us all."  One of the mmembers of the interim council, Sirina Ifi, told the Ha'Hani Times Post.  "None of us really believed that Ha'Finix would select a man, especially one so low-profile as him.  But, the signs were all there."

"Skai's Appointment is really a leap forward in our culture and times.  We knew that when Ha'Finix walked the Earth, it always advocated for true equality in our culture.  And we knew that even in the past, as far back as our recorded history goes, Ha'Finix never discriminated between male or female.  Ha'Finix only ever went after the most able to listen to its ordinances."  An online personality mentioned in a Stream post.

However, with the voices in support of this controversial move, also come the voices against this move.

"Men are just simply not skilled enough to handle the tasks assigned to the High Priestess.  They are too violent.  Ha'Finix would never choose anyone with so much blood on their hands."  Another Stream poster commented.

When asked about the controversy, Ofiri seemed less worried that others.

"I don't worry about whether my appointment was 'correct' by the standard of people.  The only voice that mattered was that of Ha'Finix, and Ha'Finix spoke."

Only time will tell if this controversy grows with the Prime Minister elections or fades away.
