In a rally at the city of Hokkien, Mayor Wa'ali Chhiong announces that he promised increased connectivity as well as higher service quality from governmental staff. With the transition causing slower response times from public service, as well as appalling transportation infrastructures, several problems arose in the newly formed Eastern government.

Mayor Chhiong assessed that lack of trained staff, as well as lacklustre procedures, had caused the decline of public service in the Eastern Government. An overhaul of the selection procedures of city staff and projects to improve the roads and rails are of main priority.

"The East nourishes the people of our great country, its people are strong, kind and intelligent. We must, therefore, reciprocate by ensuring the satisfaction of all of you. We have been given the chance to walk, and we have stumbled, we must ensure a strong foundation. Ensuring that those in the office are trained, and its people connected." Answered Mayor Chhiong, "only then are we able to run, for honour of the East."

The Sun Coalition, which backs Chhiong's candidacy, is assessed to assert a strong dominance in the conservative majority of the Eastern region. Being the only coalition that caters to conservatism and fundamentalism in government, Chhiong's popularity as the next Eastern Governor is the highest of the four candidates.

While under the leadership of Chhiong, the coalition highlights the rising issues of connectivity, minimum wage, infrastructure and public service, it does not push for higher representation in the People's Council and the Royal Council. The majority of the Eastern Population, in particular, the younger population, wishes for more representation in the legislature, as well as modernization of industry, with the majority of industry in the East being agriculture and fishing.

Hai-Lan Mayor Trang cashes in and seizes votes just this week. As a strong preparation for her campaign was made, immense campaigning efforts were made in the Shi Di province and the Island Region. With a monumental stronghold in Eastern Capital of Hai Lan, she has seized a sizable amount of votes from the other candidates.

Pushing for centralization of government in capital Hai Lan, she was contested to be one of the weakest candidates in the Eastern government elections. However, strong rapport with the fishing community and the sailors union presented her with a major foundation in the gubernatorial elections.

While her efforts to seize voters from fellow candidate Marshall Soo-Jung's stronghold in Shi Di, it would be a challenge to transport more of the voting public from Mayor Chhiong's stronghold in the Island Region of Hai Men. The seizure of voters in Shi Di has taken Marshall Soo-Jung by surprise, but she has managed to rebound just yesterday in her campaign in Hokkien, as well as being the favourite candidate for the military.

As candidates work with great activity in the first week of elections, Councillor Po has taken a much more conservative method. Building an unbreakable stronghold of support in the three main cities of the Hokkien province: Reina, Ya and Hokkien. He has also gained considerable support from the Peo-Kringalian supporters in the Empire Pass, promising representation of expatriate citizens in the formulation of laws in the Eastern Region.

Councillor Po, the slow runner in the Eastern Governor election, has just announced a pledge that he will try to push for the recognition of homosexual marriages in Huawan, starting with the Eastern region. Councillor Po's decision has certainly awed both politicians and voters alike, and his decision seemingly commanded the liberal vote.

Homosexuality in Huawan has been standing in the grey area. While the Royal Palace refuses to pass legislation to curb homosexuality, much to the chagrin of the majorly conservative statesmen and religious figureheads. However the Royal Palace does not wish to protect the LGBTQ+ community from discrimination, with The Peony's "WenZe" initiative, stating that the passage of legislation for anti-discrimination and censorship should not be ahead of promoting inclusivity and respect, further citing that "decisions should be held accountable, and that everyone is equal under the law".

However homosexual marriages are not recognized by Peonic law, and that while they are ceremoniously married, their relationship status is stated "single" in official state documents. However, Belschaft, Valkyria and Kringalia, three states with notably more liberal stances towards the issue, has provided a wide effect towards the Eastern region, with particular support of the decision in the island region of Hai Men. Thus, Councillor's decision has taken a massive support from frontrunner Mayor Chhiong in his voter's stronghold, effectively bringing down the unbreakable fortress of voters.

While Councillor Po's gamble certainly garnered attention from voters and swung a major blow to his fellow candidates, several observers wondered of Councillor Po's step by step plan to enact such a bold move in both the Royal Council and The People's Council. Moreover, councilor Po's decision may destroy his own foothold in the Daoist community and other conservative sympathizers to his cause, as well as destroying the total support he received from the ultra-communist population in the east.

Political observers see a major divergence in the Eastern region's political dynamic, and with a newer conservative candidate in Valkyria, it may turn around the polls in a deeply unexpected fashion. The Peony sternly reminds that the election of Huawan is only for the statesmen of Huawan, and any foreign incursion shall not be tolerated.

Air Marshall Nan Soo-Jung has commanded a major portion of the liberal vote and once again being the favourite liberal candidate for the Governor candidacy. It comes shortly after the leaked papers on the Valkyrian defence systems and the evergrowing threat in the South Pacifican waters, which provided her with a valid reason to ensure more defence spending in the Eastern region.

With newly-elected Chancellor Kaufman's stringent foreign policies and the expansion of migrant detention centres, as well as increasing rowdiness of foreign tourists, where the Eastern province saw several barfights from overdrinking tourists.

Many of the Eastern provinces expect a strong governor figure. The Eastern province has seen a large efflux of migrant workers and some have been in detention centres without trial, while a further influx of foreign workers has been seen in the Eastern region. Indeed, Valkyria has enjoyed cheap Peonic migrant workers and further enjoy the Eastern region's cheaper public services at a cheaper rate and tax.

Marshall Soo-Jung has promised the increase of military bases in the Eastern region and the upgrade of public infrastructure, workspaces and more investment opportunities for foreign business.

Her plans for precision agriculture and aerial seeding using cheap drones have also enticed the majorly agrarian community of the Eastern province. Marshall Soo-Jung also pushes for the construction of the national superhighway, which would link the coastal roads to the Khairturuun pass, as well as finance more ferries to the Island region of Hai Men.

She also plans for assertive travel policies to the Eastern region, starting with the reassessment of all international airports in the Eastern Region. The Marshall further plans sensitivity training for governmental workers, and cull any instances of corruption, being resolute to proper public service.

Although she has proper plans for the Eastern Government's path, questions of her political experience, age and liberalism have been the main challenges of her campaign. She warms to Councillor Po's rhetoric to challenge the Peony's WenZe initiative and promote the LGBTQ+ community and there is still no answer as to how she's going to pay for this all.

Round 1 Election Results in: I Tang Po clenches victory in election vote. Goes head to head with frontrunner mayor Wa'ali Chhiong.

In the first round votes, poll predictors are baffled as Councillor Po took the second lead over Marshall Soo-Jung. Being the slow starter in the election, he had lost popularity points in the winter against three other candidates. However, strong debate performances against the other candidates as well as favourable anti-establishment reforms have taken command of the liberal vote.

His main promise would be to legalize gay marriages, as well as to curb government spending has been the main talking point of his campaign. He was criticized for not having a proper plan to reach these objectives, only to respond swiftly with one.

Other causes of the victory include Marshall Soo-Jung's strong rhetoric in the Kalkaran war, in which the eastern chamber of the People's council would wholly support taking a stronger and aggressive stance in conflicts, of which votes are defeated in the eastern chamber. This, with addition to Mayor Trang's occupation as mayor of SR Hai Lan, which a majority disapprove of her leaving before the end of her mayoral term, made Councillor Po the most popular liberal candidate for the Eastern governor's office.

The frontrunner, mayor Wa'ali Chhiong has taken the helm of the eastern government election vote. Garnering a majority of 40% and taking a landslide victory in SR Hai Lan and the Shan province. While being the only openly conservative candidate, he seems to have taken a large portion of the liberal vote from his oppositions.

Mayor Chhiong and his Sun Coalition advocate for simpler administration policies and connection, arguing that professional representation in the legislature would be doomed to fail if the eastern region can't get the basics right. His approach is a slow yet strong approach towards achieving a better eastern region. He also advocates food self-sufficiency, and better management of goods made, exported, imported and passing through, the eastern continent.

The next round of votes, in which both candidates will go head to head will occur in March of 2020.

Eastern Governor Race: Air Marshall Nan Soo Jung joins I Tang Po in Governor race, Mayor Chhiong takes Peonic Capitalist Banker as his running mate.



Almost two months before the final vote, running mates have been chosen by the two front runners. Surprisingly, Royal Councillor I Tang Po has chosen Air Marshall Soo Jung as his running mate. Her rhetoric in the Kalkara war has been severely unpopular with those in the Eastern provinces, with calls to join the conflict.


"I note Marshall Soo-Jung's expertise in the military and naval defense. If the Eastern government were to be strong in its defensive against potential foreign incursions. I believe that the air Marshall has a concrete plan to help the eastern province to strengthen its defensive assets, and with proper cooperation, we will ensure the prosperity of the East."


It is unknown at this point whether the decision to pair with the air marshall would be beneficial for his cause. Meanwhile, in the other camp, mayor Chhiong has taken royal east bank vice-chancellor as his running mate. A clever move in sealing financial support on the last leg of his campaign.

Jin Ryusaki (49), Vice-Chancellor of the Eastern Royal Bank of the Peocracy, has announced his resignation and would be joining a career in politics. Known as one of the chancellors in the Empire's exchequer council, he stepped down to build the Eastern Royal Bank.


"Working in the Eastern bank has made me aware of the issues that the East currently has. While our income continues to grow in the fiscal year, our funds must be managed accordingly in order to ensure that our coffers are not emptied so haphazardly, something that Mayor Chhiong and I have plans towards."

The election shall start on March this year.
