[PROCESSED] Correction to the Elections Act

Legislative Procedure Act, Article 2, Section 4, stipulates:

The Chair may correct typographical errors, grammatical errors, naming or formatting inconsistencies at any time, as long as these corrections do not alter the original intent of the law, following a three day period in which the corrections are presented to the assembly for comments. Any such corrections must be recorded with the legislative history of each law.


This is a correction to the Elections Act.

Text of the Discretionary Correction Wrote:

3. Office of The the Delegate

(2) On the first of every January and July, the Assembly will convene for the first round of Delegate elections.

d. The two candidates with the highest number of approvals will move to a the second round of voting conducted via a poll of Native World Assembly members.

5. Office of the Chair
[Insert paragraph gap]
(1) Eight days before the end of a Chair's term, the Assembly will convene to elect the Chair of the Assembly.

(2) The voting for the Chair will be conducted using Approval Voting.

...

c. Should no candidate recieve receive at least 50% approval, the option to Re-Open Nominations will be "elected".

6. Vacancies of Office

(1) A special election will be held for vacancies arising within the Cabinet, if more than half of the term remains. If less than half of the term remains, or the position is vacant due to nobody running in its election, the Cabinet may appoint a replacement until the next regularly scheduled election.

(2) A special election will be held for vacancies arising within the Local Council, if more than half of the term remains. If less than half of the term remains, or the position is vacant due to nobody running in its election, the Delegate may appoint a replacement until the next regularly scheduled election.

(3) Should the office of Delegate become vacant, the next person in the line of succession will become interim Delegate until the next regularly scheduled election. If no person qualifies for the office, then a special election will be held.
