[DEBATE] Minister of Integration, Amendment to the Charter of the South Pacific
#1

Minister of Regional Affairs

(7) The Minister of Regional Affairs will be responsible for promoting regional and forum activity, integrating new players into the forums, organizing cultural events, and communicating with the world about the South Pacific’s activities.

Minister of Educational Affairs
The Minister of Educational Affairs will be responsible for the integration of new players into the forums, collaborating with the Local Councillors to integrate and retain new players into the South Pacific and NationStates, and will be responsible for collaborating with other ministries to integrate and recruit people into the ministries.

Can't do this properly as I don't have PC access (feel free to make it look nicer) but, in short, as people have pointed out, Integration has very little to do with the rest of the portfolio.

I may not vote for this proposal, but, I believe this creates a compromise. Can't write a long post now, but I will update my reasoning later on.

I don't believe there is another proposal on the floor of the Assembly. I've heard people on Discord say they will begin drafting the appropriate legislation in 2020 (I enjoyed saying the last part Tounge).

However, based on the poll conducted by Aume, I believe the majority of respondents are in favour of restructuring along the lines of Home Affairs and Cultural Affairs ministries and/or Home, Cultural, and Media Affairs.

I really like calling this the "educational affairs" in response to integration. Basically the framing would be "Here's all the things you need to know in order to get involved" ... right? That should also help shepherd people into the fellowship programme and other areas of the region (i.e. SPSF).

Lastly, I think by framing it in such a way, we're setting our sights on *new* people rather than trying to get old people "active" offsite is a smart move, since most of the older players are already set in their ways.
