[FAILED] Ministries Act (several versions)
#1

I've drafted legislation to create ministries (conditional on the passage of an amendment to the Charter of the South Pacific). There are several versions of this act, but the first version retains the existing ministries without creating new ones.

4× Cabinet minister /// 1× OWL director /// CRS member /// SPSF

Two suggestions:

1) Perhaps it would be easier to split these amendments into separate threads, for separate things one by one.
2) All of the ministries should have a larger legal duty. Having integrational affairs "Integrate new players" is too vague, and is only a small part of what integration actually does. Same with cultural affairs: it should liaise with LC and the FA to provide events for all platforms.
Lastly, is it possible to use the formatting recommended by the chair?

So, I do think we'd want a more robust description of some of these positions as they look a bit ... sparse now.

If we were to break it as Educational and WA — with the current RA keeping Media and Culture — would we need to rename RA? It might just be easier to keep to RA and break the other two (well, one really) out as needed.

I agree with Tsu. There is little to no need to rename RA.

Education would need to be broken, and I think WA should have a separate ministry.

As far as naming goes, I think "Regional Affairs" is actually a clearer and more fitting title for the integration role (though Educational Affairs works too), while events/RP/media or just events/RP should be "Cultural Affairs".

I agree with Tsu that some more fleshing out of the responsibilities is in order. I'd say "Educational Affairs" should include a more explicit duty to collaborate with the LC. I'd strongly favor wording which gives the ministry the responsibility of integrating new players into all platforms, as opposed to just Discord and forums specifically. Getting new nations to talk on the RMB, join the WA, etc. (maybe even all of SWAN!) should be part of the MoEA, imo, not just getting people to join offsite and join other ministries.

If we split, I'd personally prefer not reusing "Regional Affairs" as a name to avoid confusion and prevent misappropriation of the idea of continuity.

All of the new ministries (except a WA ministry) would be successor ministries, so none should share the old name.

Although I think that Integration should be split, I don't think that the creation of a new ministry is entirely warranted.

It will just lead to more short term confusion, and it's easier to fuse the two ministries back together if the thing doesn't work.

I would prefer that as well.

What do you mean by split without a ministry?

I explained that terribly. Integration should be split into a new ministry, but the setup of Regional Affairs should no change.
