P R A R I E P R I M E - A Better Way Forward
#11

Can you please describe your past or current service in the South Pacific Special Forces or other work promoting our defender values, or, if you do not have such qualifications, can you explain why you have chosen not to participate in the Special Forces? (This can be as simple as mentioning a timing issue.)

I’ll try to get TSP policy to the forefront of NS news (in good ways only, of course), so we can display our leadership to the rest of the NSVerse.

This one statement does concern me a bit -- not for its content, but for what it's leaving out. As you've stated, you have substantial experience in TSP's foreign affairs, but not quite as much in regional affairs. How do you see the role of the Ministry of Regional Affairs (or any subsequent split ministries) in advancing TSP's leadership and values? More specifically, how do you see the role of domestic-born media in our relationship with this new kind of foreign organization, the independent media group (i.e. NST)?

How will you be a Prime Minister for the gamesiders of this region?

An important part of the Prime Minister's responsibilities is being able to strike just the right tone and handle the delicate balance between too much and too little action when a crisis occurs. How would you handle a high-tension regional event -- e.g. the MoRA split debate? What do you think the PM's role is? How would you have handled it the same, or differently, from Roavin?

I have certainly had concerns about your experience and maturity in the past, but I feel like you've grown quite a bit since you first showed up in TSP. To be honest, you remind me quite a bit of myself, just maybe a year or so earlier in the trajectory. I think we were both originally adamant about a FA policy of "positivity towards everyone" and an unaligned ideology, but we've both come around to the idea that we need to strongly pursue our defender values and now I think we're both quite strong advocates. I also really appreciate your interest in the MoHA and MoWAA ideas. I still do have some reservations about your ability to handle crises, but I know that you're quite level-headed and sincere, and with a team of advisors, I think you'll do just fine. Most importantly, it seems like you are intent upon developing TSP's defender leadership and have the best of intentions in doing so. We need someone who will earnestly commit to a set of values -- so I'm willing to give this a shot.

You have my vote and my endorsement.

I had started as a trainee in the SPSF, and I still carry out occasional missions. However, I'm not very active at update because, especially during the school year, I just can't make 11am and 11pm updates.

I think the MoRA can definitely help us spread our defender values - whether in integration, or cultural events with our allies, the MoRA is a valuable asset in spreading Defenderism throughout the NSVerse.
I think domestic media, like integration, is something we haven't done super effectively for a while now. We've had some good publications (the Coconut Press and Southern Journal come to mind), but I think we can be even more effective, to the levels of the Rejected Times. I'll let the Minister lead this, and i'll sit back and let them do their thing for the most part, but getting effective journalism is something I'd like to pursue. I think that a partnership with NationStates Today that other domestic news organizations have done is also something we could carry out to up the quality of our publications.

I, like many other TSPers, got my start on gameside, and I've been pretty vocal about outreach to that side of the community. I think that weekly AMAs are a good start, but I'd also like to get a good relationship with not only the Ministry of Home Affairs, but the Local Council going. If we partner with the LC, we could make some serious strides on integration to forumside and overall making gamesiders feel more welcome in TSP

That's a hard question. I obviously don't have much experience with crisis management, but I know people who do: former Cabinet ministers! During a crisis like that, I'd try to listen to them as much as possible, while trying to diffuse tensions and make everyone take a deep breath. I'd like to follow Roavin's lead as much as possible on this - he's one of the best at crisis management out there.

Thank you so much for your support - it means so much coming from you, not only because you're the Delegate, but because you're someone I've looked to for advice and guidance during my time here.

The Prime Minister manages the Cabinet. This means they should have policy ideas for every position in the Cabinet.
Integration is something we need to do effectively. As Prime Minister, I can lead integration policy. But I don't want to just lead integration policy. I want to lead in other aspects too.

Just realized I triple posted - I've integrated two of my answers to other questions into the first response to Somy.

Anonymous Question time!

QA8) Your campaign states that you will appoint 6 non-elected Cabinet members. Do you think that's a stretch of Prime Ministers' power to appoint that many people? And, who
are you considering for these roles?

Thanks for the question, anonymous!

No, I don't think it's a stretch. As I've mentioned before, I don't particularly have that much experience in the Cabinet, so the more experience around me, the better.
I won't disclose who i'm considering, because that could be seen as a form of vote-buying. But I don't think it's that hard to guess who.... Wink
