USoVietnam for Minister of Engagement: A more pragmatic and efficient approach

Maybe a bit of a simple question, but — how would you envision this system for members who might apply for certain ministries initially but later wish to become involved in other/additional ministries?

Good question. I think one can just reapply the form with new info, this is the fastest solution.

Do you have any opinion on my occasionally mooted idea of a basic open civil service for the four non-military ministries, with, perhaps, tiers above the basic level for more sensitive roles?

Can you elaborate more on this?

It was related to one of my core ideas of my campaign for MoRA - an open, transparent ministry where pretty much everyone who wanted to join would be welcomed and able to see the majority of what goes on, so as to help encourage interest in different areas they might not otherwise consider. I began to extrapolate that to an open civil service offers, which I suggested in cabinet as well as elsewhere at times.

Players would apply to join the civil service and then develop specific ministry interests after that, based on what they saw happening within that civil service. Some areas would have to be cordoned off, obviously, including parts of FA, Defense and special projects the former RA ministries want to keep under wraps until they're ready, but essentially everything else would be visible to the entire civil service with the opportunities for them to chip in and request greater involvement as they went along.

Your approach is basically how I will run MoE in term of organization, all work groups are open to the public. MoE projects don't need to be kept private so the planning channels for them are likely to be open as well. Unfortunately, it is not MoE's responsibility or power to deploy this on other non-MoE government bodies.

Just gonna pop in and echo what pretty much everyone else has said. I’m convinced that you are some kind of machine or maybe even a wizard when it comes to this stuff, Viet. This is absolutely the position for you and I’m really excited to see what you accomplish. One hundred percent support from me.

Only a member of the Fudgetropolis Establishment could think creating a new bureaucracy to sign people up for government jobs is a good idea. The South Pacific needs less government and more freedom.
