[Discussion] Origin and migration of modern humans
#11

I foresee the usual problem of patching together wildly incoherent pieces. For example, I envisioned the first historic inhabitant of Bruuma and Puerto Pollo to be RL-equivalent of Amerindian, but neighbouring countries could have radically different ethnicities as theirs.

One way could perhaps be surveying players and trying to fit together the result?

This is what I'll do.

Govt Island is the cradle of Humanity, some newts became apres and humans. They swam to continents and began diversification based on climate.

Or we could do the "interdigital webbing" theory and claim that humans come from the sea. That way no nation would get the responsibility of becoming the cradle of humanity, and everyone can make their population as unique as possible, since there is not much land migration that gets everyone so similar

This would be excellent background on A1-0 too.

So the idea would be that humans come from the sea, and they swim to land. While there is really large similarity of population in landmasses, between say... Bailtem and Cordilia, it'll be more different.

This would also be good for RP-ers that want to make their characters a bit more fantasy/sci-fi while still being grounded with MT, and give excellent background in racial tensions
