Another bite of memory pie. This time, he wondered about life before coming to St. Mystere. The young man knew he was not from this region, let alone this town. But instead of the usual blackout for a few seconds, this time, as he consumed the tasty baked good, he felt a land far away.

It felt like a void-like universe of a faraway landscape. The details were hazy, as if the world had been drained of its familiarity. Everything looked gray, and nothing was tangible from the rest of the world he was in.

Except a note, and a coin. His coin.

The young man looked forward, but before he could make out the words, he snapped out of the world, lost forever.

After a few silent moments, the young man took another sip of his Kvass to wash down the large chunk of pie he had just eaten. He then revealed his coin from his pocket and flipped it on the table.

Heads. The coin pulsed with a subtle dark light.

The young man took out a disorganized pile of coins and bills. "Here's enough to cover that hole. Eight years is probably enough."

"You are a nice man Hen Su, but I'm afraid I must decline such a generous offer, I'll accept just enough for you to pay your meal. We have enough here and we are grateful to not need charity, and do not worry about the hole, I'm sure I could handle it."

The Old man then packed over 7 blocks of butter on the table and wiped his hands with his rag. Before taking some notes and pushing it back to the young man.

"If you are still insistant however, we would be happy if you give the money to those who need it more than us. There are many you know, those in the alm's houses perhaps? I don't know." Said The Old Man, he then took the empty plates and cups for the small creatures to carry. Before wiping the counter. "Anyway, I appreciate your visit as always mein herr, is there anything else we can help you with?"

"Alright, I'll be doing just that with the money. I'll be back next week, just keep holding the shop down, will ya?"

""Of course, thank you for your patronage!" The old man said, "we hope you could visit us again!"

As the young man exited the bakery, the old man looked at him from the inside as the young man got out of view from the store window. It was then that he already finished, and placed half a bucket of butter down. The young girl came out, after finally finishing to wash the dishes and the baking. To which she needed to clean the flour smears off of her and take off the apron.

"Opa, is the butter ready?" she asked.

"Yes, the butter is ready," he said, as he gave some of the wrapped butter blocks to her. Fifteen was the normal amount they would sell, and they would have some leftover for the priest. The rest is booked by the inn, and whatever's left is made to bread.

"Alright," she took the butter on the tray and got to the back, her cart was ready. They were filling it with fresh baked bread and some of the loaves and pastries in the shop. The young girl had taken off her apron, and looked presentable, she got to her grandfather and kissed him on the cheek.

"Bye Opa!" She said with a cheery smile, as she got on her horse and moved out to the city plaza, the sundoon-markt is going to begin soon in front of the station, and she already has a good spot to sell her bread.

As the sun rises over St. Mystere, the roosters shouted aloud to greet the morning light. The church bells were rung, it was the townsfolk way to know that the day is about to start. The morning dew was still fresh and the air was purified from the smoke of day.

Kate opened her eyes slowly as her dream world slowly slipped away from her grasp, only for reality to sink back in. She rolled her shoulders back like the driving rod of the iron horse, and flexed her fingers from years of kneading dough and milling flour. She yawned once, before sitting, gathering her consciousness.

She got up, and flicked her fingers. Her bed and blankets tidied up upon her command. She made her way to the mirror, and she flexed her elbow and imagined her hand grasping on a bucket of water, and turned her wrist 180 degrees got rid of -clockwise, as if getting the water bucket to come in front of her. She washed her face with icy cool water gathered from the rain before, while she used her magic to summon the hairbrush and let it uncurl any tangles on her straight and amber hair. The ribbon flew to her from the drawer, and tied itself unto her hair. She then took a cloth and tied over her forehead and making her hair neat.

As she looked at herself and wondered about why she still has butter on her face, she flicked her fingers to ignite the stoves in the kitchen below her room. It was morning, and breakfast is upon the bakery of St. Mystere once more.
