Sunshine Act Compliance - January 2021
#11

I agree that a regular cycle for releasing things would increase the Court's compliance with the Sunshine Act. Since everything has to be released within six months, a January/July release schedule only works if you release everything (even cases finalised the day before the release). Three times a year (e.g. March, July, November) would work better, because you can release things due in the next four months and, therefore, the threads are at least two months old. Anyway, that's my two cents worth; feel free to take it or leave it.

I've just been going through the Discord logs. Would the Court prefer that links to Google Docs for draft rulings are included or are redacted? (I'm not sure if there is a theoretical privacy risk so I thought I would check). Additionally, there is a link to a mock-up form Roavin made for the joint application process and a link to one of the past Judicial Application Process documents. Should these links be included or redacted?

I'd prefer the logs to be on the forums just so no privacy is lost and any link never goes dead as files are deleted and moved around on Google. (I'm pretty sure I have outed myself several times to much of TSP and I don't mind perse, but I know others want their privacy)

Regarding the other documents, I think we should include those unless we plan on using them again in the future.

I don't mind revealing links from judicial application threads because the forms and docs in them are made with a special High Court account. Other than that I think it's best to err on the side of privacy, but moving forward it might be best to use the forum for drafting and avoid this issue altogether.

Certainly, I will post have posted the releases in a 2504 thread in the coming moments. I will have a second thread for August 2020 onwards, as there is significant discussion of the Local Council election stuff thereafter and so it would make sense to release those logs when that case is released. I am happy for the case and appeal to be released in this batch; however, I understand that our current position is that it won't be. Anyway, please take a look at the Discord logs and confirm you are happy for them to be included in the Sunshine Act release. Thanks in advance!

Excellent work, Nat. I am going to miss you on the Court.

Do we by chance know of any logs that predate these logs (in terms of Nat's access to said logs)? We might as well catch and release them now rather than never.

Nat did include all the logs, even those that predate them or that had already been released as part of other cases. If you check, there are lots from when Glen was in the Court.

Just making sure Smile

If we are satisfied with these logs and threads, do we need a formal vote to release them, or are we good?

For clarity; it appears that the logs and all threads marked as such in the OP will be released.

This looks good for release to me as well.
