Could you give an example of a situation in which our vote in the GA would absolutely need to be overridden by the Cabinet on grounds of security or diplomacy? I was always under the impression that the GA only is a roleplay-ish institution without all the interregional political implications of the SC.

Could this be cleared up before the vote please?

Um... am I supposed to see some sort of Cabinet forum? I currently don't.

World Assembly Act

An act to define the World Assembly procedures of the Coalition of the South Pacific

3. Voting

(3) If a nation resigns from the World Assembly or their membership in the South Pacific Special Forces before the voting period ends, their vote shall not count.

New nations being created and admitted to the WA was what enabled the whole Hawks-subverting-our-vote thing back in November, so maybe we should also ban votes by nations admitted to the WA during the voting period? On the other hand, that'd discourage voting by genuine new nations, so I don't know whether that's worth it.

Unfortunately, no. I can't provide a prediction for the future. I simply believe that the Cabinet ought to have this capability, as our Delegate's vote is very much part of the broader scheme of diplomacy and security in the region. That's the case regardless of the council of the World Assembly the vote applies to. I don't want us to leave anything out of the Cabinet's toolbox.

This could make a considerable amount of work for the Office staff on every vote, having to verify when a nation was admitted for each vote. Are you sure that's something you want? If so, I'll add it. But I want to make sure y'all know what you're getting yourselves into there.

Thanks ‒ regarding the additional checks by staff, it'd be a matter of having the bot compare regional WA admittance happenings to the timestamp of the RMB post opening the OWL vote, but it's not like we absolutely need this regulation, it was only something that hit me when I read the bill again today. It's probably better for both activity and staff to leave it as is (we would after all now still have the Cabinet overrides should something like that incident happen again)
