Nonexistent Chair Rights Act

Legislators,

There has been a seconded motion to bring the Chair Rights Act to vote. The debate thread can be found here.

As this is a general law, it requires a simple majority (greater than 50%) to pass. The voting period will last 3 days, ending on April 4 at 17:00 UTC. (18:00 in London, 13:00 in New York, 4:00 on the 5th in Sydney)

Please vote by poll if possible. If you cannot vote by poll, post 'Aye', 'Nay' or 'Abstain' in this thread. Please do not vote both by poll and by post. Comments and discussion belong in the debate thread and should be posted there.

Chair Rights Act
An act to define the rights of the Chair

1. Definition of the Chair

(1) The Chair shall be defined as the current Chair of the Assembly of the South Pacific.

(2) The Chair shall always be the person who controls the nation Purple Hyacinth.

(3) In the case of nation Purple Hyacinth ceasing to exist, the position of the Chair shall be considered defunct. If the nation is resurrected, the position will be reinstated.

(4) The Chair is not to be confused with chairs, a piece of furniture meant for sitting.
a. The Chair may still act as a chair if it pleases.
b. The Chair is not obligated to act as a chair.

2. Rights of the Chair

(1) The Chair shall have the right to unrestricted free speech.

(2) The Chair is free to appoint and dismiss any number of Chair minions Deputies.

(3) The Chair shall be be a legislator of the South Pacific, and cannot be removed via legislator checks.

(4) The Chair shall be given priority service at Lampshade Bar and Grill.

(5) The Chair shall have the ability to declare any bill passed or failed, no matter the vote.

3. Rights of the Assembly

(1) Legislators must consistently demonstrate their inferiority to the Chair.

(2) Declaration of any individual other than Purple Hyacinth as the Chair is forbidden and shall be punishable by banjection.

(3) No legislator may practice any religion unless it worships the Chair, or they may face banjection.

(4) Legislators are prohibited from criticizing the Chair, punishable by banjection.

(5) Resignation of legislatorship is not allowed. It is punishable by banjection.

4. Status of the Actf

(1) This act shall only be in force on Tuesdays.

(2) This act has been approved by the Office of the Craziest.

(3) This act legalizes the Hya Coup of 2020.
