Genua razed in a record breaking raid

The fascist region Genua, notorious for their brazen use of other regions as the staging point of their raids, was raided and claimed by a coalition of at least 18 organizations including raiders, defenders, independents and anti-fascists.
The preparation for the historical operation began just hours before the major update of May 15th, when NationStates moderators announced a change in the site policy that virtually banned fascists and Nazis from the site. Nazi Europa, the largest known fascist region in NationStates and Farkasfalka, one of the most infamous fascist regions in the site, were cleared out and deleted by the moderators soon, while several nations were DEATed by the moderators based on their name, context and past history. This wave of deletion affected Genua too, whose founder Numerous currencies was DEATed by the moderation team for their dabbling in the fascist circles. Several gameplayers were quick to notice the change and soon thereafter started mobilizing for the raid as fast as they could. Genua was widely criticized in the gameplay circle for their decision to use notable regions such as Thaecia, The League and Ridgefield as jumping points for their raids.
An interesting development occurred right before the major update began, when T-Rex, one of the military leaders of Genua, revealed themselves to be Captain Woodhouse, noted anti-fascist and region hunter. They vandalized the region and the newly minted safe haven of Genuan natives, New Genua, and left a cryptic message in the WFE of both regions, foreshadowing the incoming raid: “Take it away Q, X, R and rest of the alphabets.” It is assumed that the message refers to Quebecshire, Xoriet and Roavin, all of whom are leading figures of the anti-fascist movement in NationStates or had previous conflicts with Genua.
At the start of the major update – which occurs from 12AM EST to 1:30AM EST usually – eager updaters started amassing under the leadership of NationStates Antifa in a designated jump point, quickly bringing their number to 50 (according to the endorsement count on their point nations). The unusually large force got a further boost when Libcord defenders finished up their defense of a separate attempted raid and joined in, soaring the endorsement count to 121 on the point nation Mallorea. The military forces were already looking to shatter the record for the largest updater force in known NationStates history, previously set with 96 endorsements by Operation Boom Beach just a couple months prior. What was interesting to note that gameplayers from all spectrums of R/D came together for this and for the first time in known NationStates history, Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO), The Order of The Grey Wardens (TGW) and The Black Hawks (TBH) jointly participated in an anti-fascist operation. Other notable organizations included the South Pacific Special Forces (SPSF), the League Defense Force (LDF), the MT Army, The Red Fleet (TRF), the New Pacific Order (NPO) and the Lone Wolves United (LWU).
On the GO signal at approximately 12:49AM EST, at least 113 nations rushed into Genua and seized the executive delegacy, smashing the record for the largest updater force with ease. Mallorea, the puppet nation of retired TBH commander and moderator Mallorea and Riva, was the main point of the operation and assumed delegacy after update, while renowned anti-fascist military commander Vippertooth33 and commended defender, former First Warden of TGW and General of SPSF Roavin acted as backup points in the operation.
We reached out to Quebecshire, the Chief Consul of The League, a commander of LDF and one of the participants of the raid, who said;
“The Genua raid was incredibly important for a number of reasons. Firstly, it came off the heels of off some much needed changes in site policy, and it showed that even on a short notice, an surmountable force from a broad coalition can be gathered to stamp out a fascist region, especially one of their particularly obnoxious and vile nature.
The LDF brought 10 updaters to the operation, and we were happy to work both alongside our allies and other militaries we do not typically cooperate alongside. I'd like to especially reiterate a thanks towards Roavin, Vippertooth, and Xoriet for their contributions to the raid and to the cause overall. Everyone who came was great to work with, and the fact that it broke a record makes it infinitely more satisfying to have been a part of.”
The historical raid signifies the beginning of the end for the fascists in NationStates, who have long plagued the site with their despicable ideology of hatred and discrimination, and gives us a glimmer of hope; hope that we might finally see a world where all forms of discrimination, bigotry and comparable ills are rejected and opposed in an unified manner.
