This activities record of various important conventions, meetings and conversations of the Federal Congress of Alterra is being maintained by the Senate Committee on Audits. Recorded by observers at said meetings, the following transcripts are 100% accurate and may or may not reflect the actual policy of the Commonwealth of Alterra. On October 3, 2021, it was decided by the Senate Committee on Audits to publicize these records for the scrutiny of the public eye and the international community as a whole. These records may also be used to identify the stances of key influential politicians in the Federal Congress, including President Anderson himself.

Senate Committee on Home Affairs Debate on the Ratification of the Grovne Conventions

Committee Chairwoman: "Order! Order! The Senate Committee on Home Affairs formally convenes today, the sixth of October, for the first debate on the ratification of the Grovne Conventions by the Commonwealth of Alterra. I'm sure many of you already know Alterra was recently admitted into the World Forum, an organization dedicated to-"

James Aston, CON: "An organization dedicated to the compromising of its member states' sovereignty and the strangling of its member states' economy!"

Conservatives in the room cheer loudly.

Committee Chairwoman: "SENATOR ASTON! Please take your seat and keep quiet until its your turn to speak. As I was saying, the World Forum is an organization dedicated to ensuring the protection of its member states and advancing common goals among the South Pacific states. Today the representatives of each party represented in the Federal Senate will be given a chance to speak. Senator Bones, of the Alterran Democrats, the floor is yours."

Anita Bones, DEM: "Good day, esteemed Senators, Chairwoman, and observers. As many of you know, I was one of the fourteen Senators who voted in favor of the immediate ratification of the Grovne Conventions. Many of you have criticized me and the thirteen other Senators for voting in favor of Conventions which pledge to uphold the values we all hold dear-"

James Aston, CON: "Not us!"

Committee Chairwoman: "Senator! Once more and I will have the guards escort you out. Is that understood?"

Aston sits down, visibly disgruntled, and the rest of the Conservatives in the room go silent.

Committee Chairwoman: "Senator Bones, please continue."

Anita Bones, DEM: "As I was saying, the Grovne Conventions practically align in terms of value with our constitution, drafted in 1920, which to this day we continue to uphold and respect. Opposing the ratification of the Grovne Conventions is equal to opposing the ratification of the 1920 Constitution of the Commonwealth of Alterra. What do we value? Democracy. Freedom. Sovereignty. Self-determination. Prosperity. Equality. All of these values are clearly and properly outlined and established as a must in the Conventions, so I see no reason why there would be ANY form of opposition against the ratification of these Conventions."

Committee Chairwoman: "Does this statement align with the posture of the Democrats of Alterra party?"

Anita Bones, DEM: "Yes ma'am. President Anderson has placed his endorsement behind the-"

James Aston, CON: "And does President Anderson wield executive power over the Congress? No, he does not-"

Committee Chairwoman: "Senator Aston! Security will escort you out and we'll be having a discussion outside. In the meanwhile we'll be taking a break, and the Labour representatives will be next. Is your statement ready, Senator?"

Jennifer Muller, LAB: "Yes ma'am."

Committee Chairwoman: "Temporarily dismissed."

Recorded conversation between President Anderson and Vice President Clarke, leaked online

The President: ". . . I don't get how those [REDACTED] in Congress can bear to basically witness the sufferings of those poor Romordians, those [REDACTED]."

The Vice President: "That's life for ya, Tom. Politicians, they never cooperate, especially the opposition."

The President: "Speaking of the opposition did you hear the news? About this Coalition for Peace or something like that?"

The Vice President: "Yep. The Cons and Labs say its temporary but I think they might bunch up with the Greens and serve as a block to our agenda until the midterms."

The President: "We have a majority in both houses though."

The Vice President: "Will we after the midterms though?"

The President: "Potentially, but Democratic support has been slipping since this [REDACTED] crisis started."

The Vice President: "I know its stressful and all but we'll pull through this just fine. Speaking of pulling through have you seen those proposals from Walker?"

The President: "You mean those [REDACTED] about the [REDACTED] with [REDACTED]?"

The Vice President: "The one with the [REDACTED], yeah."

The President: "What about it?"

The Vice President: "Maybe it would be, you know, better to conclude the discussions sooner rather than later? Those [REDACTED] would be useful especially considering the current situation."

The President: "Yeah, with N&GB and their darned nukes."

The Vice President: "Well anyways, I've got to catch a [REDACTED] with [REDACTED] now so-"

The President: "Good luck, Madam Vice President."

Meeting of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs

The President: ". . . Chairwoman, what in the hell is going on here?"

Chairwoman Bones, DEM: "Mister President, the situation has gotten out of hand. Our fighters in Astria are scrambling to defend our northern skies should any attack occur but its unlikely. N&GB possesses nuclear weapons and a war with them would be certain death-"

The President: "I understand the situation, Chairwoman. Now, what in the hell am I supposed to do? The TCC has warned us not to intervene, the Izaakians are our strategic and economic ally, somebody tell me what we're supposed to do!"

Alan O'Connor, DEM: "Mister President, if I may, perhaps Alterra should just back World Forum-sanctioned intervention and stay on the sidelines for now. We cannot risk nuclear war-"

Vivien Poroshenko, LAB: "Nor can we risk the Romordians getting exterminated! These are human beings here, humans who are equal to N&GB and its citizens! Will we just let those, those [REDACTED] murder millions? Families, gone. Children, gone. We cannot stand by while genocide occurs."

Alan O'Connor, DEM: "Nor can we risk Alterran lives. We are the government of Alterra, and our people come first."

Vivien Poroshenko, LAB: "And what a selfish [REDACTED] you are."

Chairwoman Bones, DEM: "ORDER! Enough with the insults, please. Mister President?"

The President: "I'd like to hear from the Conservatives if possible."

Chairwoman Bones, DEM: "Adam, go ahead."

Adam Van Gelder, CON: "I believe we should stay neutral, and I am almost certain I speak for my party here. We have no say because of the Democratic majority, but still. I don't think we should."

The President: "Noted, Senator Van Gelder."

Chairwoman Bones, DEM: "So? What will it be, Mister President?"

The President: "I- We can't intervene. We can't go to war. But keep the military at the ready and open five more Safehouses. We have to be prepared for all outcomes."

Chairwoman Bones, DEM: "I'll notify Army Command right away, sir. Dismissed."
