NATIONAL PARK CLOSED DOWN

 

His Excellency has closed down a national park on the most south-east part of Nicholas and Great Britain. Trees would be chopped down for wood and a coal mine will be set up after the war as any explosives that would be used for blasting has been sent to the military.

New Forest National Park

New Forest National Park was closed down by order of his Excellency in the evening of the 24th of November, 2021. The trees will be chopped down for wood and there are plans for a coal mine to be set up after research showed that there are large amounts of coal underneath the forests. The mine will not be set up until all the forest has been cleared and the war has ended so that explosives can be used for the military instead. This decision was made after heavy debate in the Houses of Parliament. Many MPs said that the area was a big and important national park in Nicholas and Great Britain and is a home to lots of wildlife. An MP said, 'Destroying the forest may destabilise the entire food web in the area.' However many other MPs said that the national park had many resources and that it is 'an opportunity that must not be looked away from.' In the end his Excellency agreed with the side supporting the park to be closed down.

NATIONAL PARK REOPENED

His Excellency has announced that Nicholas and Great Britain will accept the Meridan deal and reopen New Forest National Park.

New Forest National Park has been reopened and all operations to cut down the trees in the park have been stopped. This decision was also made after heavy debate. One MP, who supported accepting the deal, said "A few days ago some of you talked about 'an opportunity that must not be looked away from'. Today, we have an opportunity. An opportunity that if taken, will give us a higher chance to win the war. So I say we take that opportunity, I say we give ourselves a chance to win the war. What is a few pieces of wood and a bit of coal compared to a new ally and victory?"

NICHOLASGRAD UNDER SIEGE

The City of Nicholasgrad

Izaakia has begun the siege of Nicholasgrad. The military has sent as many soldiers as possible to the second largest city of Nicholas and Great Britain. Evan Brant, the Commander in Chief of the Military, said, "This could be the most decisive battle in the war," and, "the string of defeats must end at Nicholasgrad." Many MPs requested for his Excellency to allow civilians to be evacuated from the city. His Excellency denied it saying, "This is not the time to retreat." His Excellency said that he believes the citizens of Nicholasgrad can help with the battle in numerous ways such as spotting hostile forces, returning weapons to the military and fighting Izaakian soldiers themselves.

LARGE ASSUALT ON IZAAKIAN FORCES IN NICHOLASGRAD

The 3rd Tank Division and the 5th Infantry division on their way to Nicholasgrad.

Around 1 million soldiers were sent to Nicholasgrad to defend the city from being taken by Izaakian forces. The 4th Army, which is comprised of the 7th and 8th Legions, and the 6th Army, which has the 11th and 12th Legions, are on their way to Nicholasgrad. The 5th Army was defeated at Birmingham. The Air Chief General of the Air Force has announced that the Air Force will begin an aerial bombardment of the north of Nicholasgrad and advises that any civilians in that area should get to the south of the city for safety.

LEWIS OFFENSIVE BEGINS
Nicholas and Great British shocktroops before heading to Nicholasgrad

The NGB Army has planned another assualt on the Izaakian forces. Marshal General Jasper Lewis planned an offensive, called the Lewis Offensive, on the Izaakian forces surrounding the 4th and 6th Armies in Nicholasgrad thus cutting their supply line. The 2nd, 12th and 13th Armies have been sent. Artillery and the Air Force will suddenly begin an intense bombardment on Izaakian forces using many types of bombs such as regular bombs, gas bombs and fire bombs. Artillery and bombers will shift their aim away from the front of the Izaakian forces for space for the shocktroops. If they meet any stubborn resistance, they will find ways around and leave the job to the large amount of soldiers behind them. The artillery and bombers will keep shifting their aim forwards until they get near the 4th and 6th Army who will be fighting on the other side. Field Marshal Lawrence Williamson said that he hopes this would be the beginning of the change in the tide of the Izaakian war.

NICHOLAS RESIGNS

Many MPs, high ranking military members and other officials have demanded Nicholas' resignation. They said that if he doesn't, they will remove him by force. Reluctantly, Nicholas resigned and was forced to make an apology for the atrocities he has committed and then he will be taken to a high security prison. The same thing happened to many other people such as the Minister of Imperial Expansion John Evington, who came up with the idea of genociding a large percentage of the Romordian population, and Minister of Internal Affairs Ryan Reynolds, who has ordered for the destruction of many towns and the people living in them. When making his public 'apology ' John Evington shouted, "We should have killed every last one of them! (Romordians) We should have turned their land into a graveyard the likes of which the world has never seen before!" before being taken away by guards. Nicholas said that whilst he apologises for the suffering he has caused, he will never apologise for "bringing back the empire and creating hope for a glorious nation." Police and some of the military are currently searching for the NGBSS headquarters to find the members of the Command Council.

JANUARY 2022 BY-ELECTION

The January 2022 by-election, the first election since May 2009 has concluded and the United Democratic Party has won with a landslide victory. The United Democratic Party (UDP) got 438 of the 600 seats in the House of Parliament, Labour Party got 64, the Conservative Party got 60, and the Liberal Democrats got 38. Other parties include the Green Party, the Nicholas and Great British Worker's Party and the Nationalist Party. The new Prime Minister is Gerald Fernsby. The new government have announced that private businesses are no longer completely controlled by the government and can appoint their own leaders to decide what happens.

NGB-IZAAKIA TREATY ANNOUNCED

After many days if negotiating in Ricubai, Prime Minister Fernsby and President Blanc of Izaakia have announced a peace treaty between the two nations. The deal includes the withdrawal of Izaakian troops, Nicholas and Great Britain's surrender, removal of Nicholas and Great British WMDs and the Izaakian led trials of some of the members of Nicholas' regime. However, not all are in favour of this treaty. Many military generals and admirals have expressed annoyance at the disarming of the military and surrender of Nicholas and Great Britain and a number of civilians feel this way too. Some feel that surrender is humiliating and that Gerald Fernsby should have pride for his nation. In response to this, Fernsby stated ,"When Nicholas and Great Britain surrendered is when the regime ended. To say that we should not have surrendered is saying that the regime should have carried on abusing our rights and taking innocent lives."

OWEN WALSH POISONED

Owen Walsh had died in hospital after being poisoned by his tea. Investigations have revealed that the chemical used was VX and the most probable culprit is the NGBSS. He was taken into hospital on the night of the 14th of March and died in the morning of the 15th. His funeral will be held on the 20th. Police believe the poison was meant for Fernsby but Walsh ended up drinking it. Fernsby described him as the 'man who stood up to tyranny' and the 'architect of democracy in this nation'.

NORWICH INVADED AND MANY TOWNS AND CITIES UNDER ATTACK

Norwich Cathedral before the tower got destroyed by a missile.

Some soldiers stayed guarding the towns that had already been captured.
The 13th Brigade under the command of Brigadier Ronald Tadman in Norwich have surrendered after receiving many casualties and being largely outnumbered. Norwich is now under the control of Nicholas' forces and Ronald Tadman and the other survivors of the 13th Brigade are now prisoners of war.
John Evington's forces in Skegness have split up into three groups and have attacked three different towns. The largest group lead by John Evington has attacked Lincoln, another group led by Colonel Colin McFrancis have attacked Boston and another group lead by Lieutenant General Ernest Britton have attacked Grimsby.
The army lead by Nicholas has attacked Bedlington and some of their soldiers under the command of Brigadier Jack Bastin have attacked Morpeth.
Evan Brant's soldiers have attacked Exeter.
Jasper Lewis' soldiers have attacked Liverpool, the largest place Nicholas' side has attacked so far.
William Roseberry's soldiers have attacked Cardiff.
Alec Stanfield are still on their way heading towards Glasgow. More government soldiers have been deployed at Kilmarnock which is between Ayr and Glasgow.
Barnaby Greer's soldiers are less than half way to Inverness from Thurso and Wick.
Olivia Mayberry's soldiers have attacked Lancaster.
Gregory Avington's soldiers have attacked Folkestone.
Willoughby Edington's soldiers have attacked Zlatna.
